Evening All
Wet here this afternoon and we have been soaked twice, Dad's shoes that were not letting in water yesterday are today so looks like they are for the bin, his jacket and trousers kept the rain out though, I have worked my way through 2 towels so far.
Dad automatically reduces the sugar in everything, that's not his problem, it's just that he eats too much.
We have been entering lots of comps this past week, mostly Advents and not a sign of a win yet but we got 50p on a Lidl app scratch card so that will get redeemed next time we are in, probably tomorrow as Dad needs fruit again.
Must get ready for our last walk of the day, the heavy rain has gone and we are into showers now and the next hour looks clear on the radar.
On the scary news side, a care home quite close to us has had some deaths from the virus, we walk past there at least once a week.
On a personal level we were accosted by a drug crazed guy in his underwear yesterday afternoon at 3:30pm, he made a grab for Dad but just got his sleeve and was shaken off straight away. Police were called and eventually caught the guy but just let him off with a caution and took him home.

Morning All. Duncan I am upset to read about your incident the other afternoon. So pleased that your Dad was not injured but it’s a shock for you both. Hope you are both ok.Duncan pleased to hear you can dry yourself but the rain sounded terrible your way hope it is better today for your walks. I think your Dad is battling two things the need to exercise and often doing a lot of it which must make him hungry and the wish to reduce the amount he eats. All the fruit he is buying sounds a good idea. It’s a hard one. I think most of us are battling with our weight. No rain here yet. We are going out in the car to some shops today as DH’s headphones need new batteries and he can’t find out on the internet how to change them. It’s a lot of small shops where he bought them so hopefully not too many people. I still have a couple of things to buy for Christmas.

Morning, I loved watching Take the High Road sheils and was peeved when they took it off. It was a few years ago but still, miss it. Hope your DD enjoys putting the decs up.
Oh my, Duncan, that must have been scary for your dad being accosted like that, glad he was caught. I hope the weather is better for your walks today. We have just had a very heavy downpour here. Think we are in for showers all day.
I hope your DH can get his headphones sorted leanfun. I am going to try and get the tree up today, try being the operative work as I have been trying for days now but something happens and it goes out the window.lol
Have a good day

Hey Compers! I've been entering the My Little Voyage advent until this morning when someone raised the question about T&Cs not being available and then it appeared the poster may be self promoting. There were subsequent posts on the thread but it has since been deleted without my being able to read them. If the comp isn't legit I would sooner unfollow them on social media etc but if there are real prizes and no big problem then of course I won't. Did anyone read the missing posts and can shed any light on the outcome please? But there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!1

It has been a lovely day here! So nice after yesterday when we didn’t get one foot over the door.
That sounds a bit scary Duncan, hope you barked at the guy!
I wondered which part of Fife you lived in. (I assume I have figured it correctly when you mentioned the care home outbreak) We have quite often stayed at the Holiday Inn Express near Leslie on our travels. It is good care home residents getting their vaccines but it will be much slower getting them done. DD has volunteered to do overtime giving the vaccines but don’t know if she will be needed until more vaccines come on line.
Hope you got everything you needed leanfun. Shopping is such a pain nowadays.
Take the High Road was on STV player for a while indie. Watched a few of the first ones but the quality was pretty poor. You forget how much better the quality is on TV now.
Must remember to get the decs out for DD.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Hi Stressedofdevon. I don’t remember entering this advent. You would have more response if you reposted you enquiry at the bottom of Compers Chat Corner. More people look there than in here The Compers Inn.Had a good outing we went at school pickup time which meant there was traffic but not many in the shops. DH was told the battery in headphones was supposed to last for four to five years. Shop owner said he would send them back and they would supply a new set. DH parked in M&S car park so I went in there while he went to his shop. Hardly anyone in there except staff filling shelves and one selfish man trying to take up the whole isle every time I saw him. I think they must have been very busy earlier as there were no small trolleys inside. We didn’t need much but I bought a few treats for Christmas. They had four empty staffed checkout places so no queue. So that’s me done with shops before Christmas.Came home and there was a twitter message I’ve won something but site had a few competitions so I’m not sure what I have won.Messaged ex Dil today and she said she will look out for presents we have sent and seems they are well so no virus there thankfully. She said she will try to organise FaceTime with us at Christmas.Tired and very slow with comps today but nearly there with organising our quiet Christmas.3

Good Morning
Dry and surprisingly warm (5C) here for our first walk but that probably means rain for the rest of the day.
We are both well after that scare, Dad dealt with a number of drug users in his job as a revenue protection investigator, but they were mostly subdued and did what they were told if told in a firm voice, mostly pot users but this guy was totally different and no longer even looked human.
Great that the vaccine is starting to roll out, supply is going to be a major problem in the coming weeks/months, it all may change again if other vaccines start getting approved that don't need such low temps.
Had to laugh at your comment about the tree indie, out the window is always the best place for trees unless you live in a tree house
No shopping today so I will need to think of someplace interesting to take Dad for our 10am walk.

lol, that's true Duncan.
It's sunny here and not cold which is nice. I went car window shopping yesterday and brought one, lol. My DS made me laugh as he said "mum you don't do things spontaneously, lol well I did yesterday. It's only a little car but I don't need a big one. I pick it up on Saturday. I have the tree up but already taken the bottom branches off as Obi keeps chewing the ends, lol. I put plastic baubles on and bent the ends of the branches up so he can't pull the baubles off but he has had a good try at doing so. Charlie just ignores the tree. I may walk to Tesco's later to pick a few bits up,other than that i have a few prezzies to wrap up.
Hope you all have a good day

Afternoon. Well done Indie on buying a car. I’m sure it’s been very tiring for you and your family without a car in the weather we have had. Made me smile thinking about Obi chewing your tree. Not sure what we are going to do about a tree here. We have two artificial trees one huge and one tiny. I tried last year to untangle the tree lights with no success in the end I just threw them over the big tree and to my amazement they looked great. No little helpers this year. I’m going to give the room a good clean today. Well that’s the intention. We too still have some presents to wrap.
Duncan pleased to hear you have had a bit of milder weather. As you described the assault the other day I thought the man out in underwear in such cold weather had to be completely out of it with whatever he was on. Pleased to hear you are both well. It’s great news about the vaccine and it’s definitely going to be better when the Oxford vaccine is available as it’s going to be so much easier to distribute. The hard thing to understand about the virus is that 1 in 3 people who have tested positive have no symptoms.Take care all.
PS forgot to say I’ve won A stork Cookery book on the web and some Flapjacks on Instagram. Will give the Flapjacks away but keep the cookery book.3 -
Good Morning
Well done on the wins leanfun, we could do with a few this way, I think we are going to have to start registering with some sites and just put up with any junk mail that arrives.
Good that you go a car so quickly indie but you made me laugh again, when I first read it, you had bought a car window but just a small one, I was wondering what you would do with a small window
We are heading out to Lidl soon to top up on some supplies but also to laugh at the people who queue round the block to pay the high prices in M&S just across the road, they must be daft.
A freegler is coming to collect some books from Dad today, at least he thinks they are coming, there has been no confirmation email yet, Dad has left them under the back of the car just in case they arrive when we are out.
