Morning, well done on drying yourself, Duncan. Charlie boy dries himself after a bath if I forget to close the bedroom doors by rolling around on the quilts, lol.
Well done on the Quidco win sheils, great news having all the family home for Christmas. Hopefully your DS in Australia can make it next year.
I think everyone is waiting for the vaccine leanfun and although it's going to take time to vaccinate everyone maybe next Christmas will be normal, whatever normal is.
Here we are a new month and the Advents have arrived. Let's hope we have better luck in here this month and we can win some nice prizes. We had a laugh yesterday, DS got paid for his 2nd job and it was £2,800. Not bad for 4 weeks of work, lol. He contacted them and instead of adding 4 extra hours they had added 400 hours. They are sorting it out today for him.
The Odeon is opening 7 days a week from tomorrow but not till 4 pm every day so he will keep the 2nd job until the opening hours go back to normal, then he will give it up.
Hope everyone has a good day
    Stay safe

Hi Toniq welcome back.  Sorry to hear someone is really ill.  Hope they make a good recovery.  Not a lot of luck about in here this year, still we keep hoping.  Good luck with the advents.

Duncan well done from me too on drying yourself.  Ho Charlie’s antics made me laugh Indie but really it’s no joke to have the beds wet.  Duncan’s Dad even though I have a husband and DS I had never realised the big difference between woman and men’s jackets and jumpers.  It’s an odd thing,

Indie yes, it’s 1st December already.  Still not sure how many advents I’m going to do.  Not had much luck with them over the years but will do a few.  Let’s hope for some wins.  Well done to your DS with his two jobs.  The money must have been a big surprise.  Pleased the Odeon is opening and he can work there.

At least one child in our nearest GS’s bubble at school has tested positive.  It was over the weekend before last and school had training day on that Friday so school has been told they do not need to be quarantined.   DD1 thought GS was hot over the weekend but he had no temperature no other symptoms.
    Take care all.

Sorry Toniq I didn't read your post properly.  Sorry to hear it’s a parent.  It’s hard when they are in hospital if you can’t visit.  Hope they are better soon.

Indie GS is fine thank you.  Well done on your win.  What a well timed lovely surprise.  Just going to look back at the advents.  We have been out this afternoon.  Hope you have more good luck.

Well done on the win indie. I keep trying to get back into comping but my heart isn't in it.
Had the Scottish tier review today and we were told we can't go down to tier 1 as we have high areas near us!  Wasn't a surprise as we had no cases for weeks at end of last lockdown and we wernt allowed out at all. Maybe next week as down to 20 per 100,000 now.
Have booked a hot tub Forest Holiday for next week in Argyl so hope they behave and don't get put up a Tier! Really looking forward to it. We have one booked there for April which was transfered from this year but it is the only one we are allowed to go to as the other Scottish one is in Perthshire ( now in Tier 3 ) and we arent allowed into England or Wales.
New TV arrived today but haven't done anything with it yet. Looks so much bigger than our old one. Was time we got a new one.
Anyway, good luck with the comps all. I have done a few of the over £100 prizes on the advents but must do some more.

  • Hello all! Decided to slip back into comping after 3 years out of the game. I am still working but have a bit more spare time on my hands with trying to limit contact with others. My word things look different! I am remembering bits as I go along and have read through the guides. I figured the advents would be a nice way to ease myself back in.
If anyone has any pointers on social media comps it would be much appreciated. I used to have separate comping accounts for these which I know now is against FB rules. I'd love to enter these but don't want to bombard my friends and families!
Hope everyone is managing to get into the festive spirit! To all of those struggling with these difficult times we find ourselves in, or your own personal circumstances, hold on, I am sure there are plenty of people on here (myself included) if you ever need a chat, and hope this comping forum provides a little light relief (and of course some wins!!)

    Good Morning :)
Snow flurries here first thing and with the below freezing temps, it is starting to feel like winter has arrived.
Off on a hunt to find a Post Office today, Dad has a parcel to post to auntie Laks, we may have quite a long walk at 10am as we are going to the shop as well
Well done on the various wins, we are now sorted with the Advents that we want to enter so just have to keep an eye out for any new arrivals.
Take Care and may the vaccine be with you soon.

Hi Vicky and welcome back, I think there is a way you can send posts but not to friends on Facebook but I don't know-how. It may be better if you start a new post and ask then someone who knows may be able to tell you.Good luck with the comps.Hope you have some luck.
You have the white stuff up there already Duncan, good job we don't have any down here yet as we get half an inch and everything comes to a standstill, lol. Enjoy your walks today.
It's raining here and windy and we have it all day so the weather forecast says. I have nothing planned other than dropping DS and his GF at work.
I hope you all have a good day

Morning same as Indie here today pleased we don’t have your snow Duncan.  Thinking brrr to your 10am walk as you say it’s the start of winter.  I too have to walk uphill to a post office in a shop today. Great you are sorted with the advents.  I’m still all over the place.  Let’s hope we have some wins.
Welcome back Vicky.  I am not on FaceBook and think Indie has a good suggestion for you to start a new post.  The forum certainly is different and things are a lot better when new system started. Good luck.
Sheils must be frustrating if you have few cases your way.  Great news about the vaccine. I do hope your DD is offered it soon.  Know what you mean about new TV.  We have had ours for some time but when we first had it I thought it dominated the room.   I’m wondering if they have improved the sound on the ‘thin’ TV’s.  When we bought ours reviews said about poor sound. Son in Law said to put speakers behind it.  Fortunately DS had left some small ones at home and these did improve the sound.  Films still have poor sound.   What made me smile is that the two older GS quickly had u tube on it.  Now even DH has been able to watch some things that are streamed on u tube in lockdown.
    Take care all.

    Good Morning Friday :)
About 2 inches of snow arrived overnight and has only just started to turn to sleet, some places are still crisp and deep but others have turned to slush quickly, this is the worst for Dad, he really struggles to walk in it with me pulling him all the time, I can't see us going out too often until the rain arrives and washes it away. We saw one abandoned car and a couple of near misses already so it looks like people have forgotten how to drive in this kind of weather.
    Take Care.
