Morning. Duncan that sounds really dangerous. Snow would be ok but slush that will turn to ice no. Duncan sounds as though it’s only a couple of times out for you today. Hope everyone stays safe your way with their cars it must be very difficult. Duncan’s Dad good luck with the comps you have sorted.
Sheils do you have snow? It’s just grey and rain here today.
Take care all.3 -
Morning, same here leanfun, no snow but the horrible rain that just seems to drizzle down.Well done on getting the Advents sorted Duncan's dad. Hope your walks are ok Duncan, I hate slush as well. You never know what is underneath. I just dropped DS's GF off at work and popped in for a few bits. The queues were not there as they usually are so was lucky because if I see too many people waiting to go in I come away and go later.
Hope you all have a good day

Hope your snow has gone Duncan. Haven’t done much with the advents as DD was here last night and seem to have been busy.
No snow here leanfun but there has been some in other areas in the region. We don’t normally get snow.
We have got rain now though.
Got the TV set up and love it although will take some getting used to!
Went for flu jab this afternoon, first I have ever had. Scotland giving it to over 55s this winter.
Hope it doesn’t give me any side effects as away to the Forest Lodge on Monday. (Can’t wait to get in the hot tub!)
Havent seen any queues for a long time indie, can’t stand them. Try to do main shop on a Sunday when our local Tesco is really quiet.
Wrote our Xmas cards yesterday so that’s another thing done.
Going to try and do some comps now.

Evening all. Duncan hope all your snow and slush has gone and you have been able to go out. Pleased you don’t have snow Sheils we don’t often have it either. Hope you have no side effects from flue jab and enjoy your trip next week. Your comment made me realise I have not even bought any cards this year. Good luck with the comps.Been busy here cooking. I’ve made fish pies and chicken and mushroom lasagnes. So have a choice for dinner tonight then rest will be frozen.Hope you are chugging along ok Firefly. Take care going out in the garden, I put coat on to go to our garage this morning for things from extra freezer. It’s at the bottom of our garden and was cold enough even though it was warmer than yesterday. I suddenly realised some Kerria is flowering. Some I missed pruning and has grown up into next door’s tree. It’s quite cheery.
Hope all have a good weekend. Take care.3 -
We managed 5 walks on Friday in the snow/slush and 6 on Saturday through all the wet that was left after the melt and rain.
Already out 3 times this morning including down to Lidl for a few things, I wanted to go the the football on the way home but Dad was too strong for me to pull that way, maybe later if it warms up a bit.
We have a weigela variety at the front door that loses all its leaves in autumn then flowers as the cold bites, the perfume is loverly.

Well woke up to hard frost this morning, bit of a shock to the system. Not keen on the cold or the rain!
Just been to Tesco to buy provisions for break as there won’t be a decent supermarket for miles. Freezing lots of stuff to take with us.
Don't think there is much flowering in our garden although noticed some things look like they have buds developing for the spring. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could hibernate, especially this year!
Wonder how quickly the vaccines will come out. Don’t think DD will be in first batch as not on front line so to speak. Parents both over 80 though so hopefully at start of January.
Need things to move forward , the look of despair on everyone’s faces is so upsetting as you go about. Not to mention the poverty which is springing up everywhere. Saw notices about food banks here, never seen that before.
Anyway on the positive side we have Xmas to look forward to. Will be strange to have a full house after only having DD for weeks.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Morning, we had a thick fog here earlier but it's gone now and the sun is out but it is cold still. Our local hospital has the vaccine and will start giving it tomorrow. I don't know how long I will have to wait as being with the agency and not permanent staff will have to wait till the manager knows. Have a good break sheils. Got a few bits to get from shops today but that's all I have planned so far.
Hope you all have a good day

Morning. Looks a clear morning here but brrrrr. Yesterday I took out the bits I had bought for Christmas presents. Last year I managed to go on the train to meet up with my sister but that’s not going to happen this year. I had a few bits for her and a beautiful candle I won earlier this year. So as I’m no good at wrapping with my hands DH did the wrapping and I have to go to the post office today. Presents for the grandchildren for DD2 I have bought on line and posted directly to her. Still have to send to the two in Scotland but I have decided what we are buying so we are nearly there.I felt so upset at the weekend seeing all the crowds out shopping in the West End. It’s crazy.Indie hope you get the vaccine soon. Our local hospital does not have the vaccine but one near DD1 does. DH will be high on the list for vaccine due to age and health but I think it’s going to be next year before he is offered it. Still it’s great progress.Duncan pleased to hear you had lots of walks over the weekend. Expect it’s very cold your way. I felt cold here yesterday and said to DH I expect it’s freezing in Scotland.Indie last night I discovered I can go into Instagram but can’t tag anyone. It says We restrict certain activity to protect our community. Usually when I go in I scroll through the home page and respond to comps there first but with the advents I didn’t, So that’s it for me with Instagram for now. I had thought I might go back to the mag dailies as we have had more luck on there. You’ll know I’m back if I tag you.
Take care all.3 -
Morning, that's happening to a lot of people on IG at the moment, even when they are not tagging anyone.
I have had a busy 2 days, I had a car crash on Monday, no one hurt only my car. I was going around a roundabout when the woman in front stopped, I slammed the brakes on but skidded into her. We were both unhurt and she has a broken backlight but it dislodged my front bumper and side wing. It's driveable but I am scared the wing will come off, it's plastic halfway up and it has been twisted. I am fully comp and started the claim process yesterday and had to send pics this morning. They may write it off as she is 11 years old but just waiting to see what they are going to do. Just what I don't need before Christmas. I will have to win the big money in the radio comps, lol.
Hope you all have a good day

Good Afternoon
Sorry to hear about your bump indie, these things do happen but you always hope it is to somebody else. Glad there were no injuries though, the car probably could be fixed but as you say, it's age is against it and the insurance would probably say no.
It has been cold here for over a week now and at 5.3C today has been the warmest it has been, the forecast through the weekend is not much better, a slight rise in the temp but rain to go with it.
Dad has cracks in both heels again so we are walking a lot slower than normal and not going as far although we did the round trip to Lidl this morning and it looks like we will be going back tomorrow again for the stuff he forgot (again)
