compchomper said:Hello, I want to subscribe to the competition board so I get a daily email of the new competitions but don't know how to do it on the new forum layout? Can anyone tell me how, cheers
You would be as well just coming on to the board every day and using the red and green tick boxes to keep track of what you have entered, this is what I do and I have yet to miss a comp one way or the other.1 -
Morning very dull here and dark now. At least from now days will start to be be lighter. Duncan’s Day did you see the conjunction last night? We don’t usually see much with all the lights around not a very clear sky. Hope you will be ok into the new year and have enough in to keep you going. It was very strange day as DD1 came and exchanged presents. I’d mislaid the charger for the iPad and didn’t see her message that she was coming . She didn’t come in and Grandson wouldn’t get out of the car. She wanted to walk around to our friends with something but drove around there instead. All very surreal.
Later DD1 found out on Twitter that a friend of ours had died last week. He was 79 and lived by himself with no relatives. He lives near us and for over twenty years until he retired DH took him to work with him in the car as they worked for the same borough and it was about an hours journey. He had been in hospital in October and we had knocked and seen him on his door step once since then. He didn’t have the virus. He always came to us for Christmas. When I had finished putting DDs things together I had wrapped present for him.

Afternoon
I have done that a few times Duncan, I always keep a loose change tin around and have found it came in very handy more than once. We didn't get a view of anything last night it was raining and windy. I hope the weather is ok for your walks, and your dad can manage till next month.
Sorry to hear about your friend leanfun, never a good time to find out news like that. It's been raining here all night and was windy, still raining but the wind has dropped. Your right about surreal times, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I put my lower back out this morning, don't know how as it was ok when I got up then went to stand up and it just went. I suppose once it's weakened it can go anytime. I have doubled my meds up so let us hope it goes as quickly as it came. I have just contacted my manager to find out when the agency staff can get the Covid jab, as I don't want to return to work till we can have it, not now we are in tier4.
Hope you all have a good afternoon

I posted on here this morning, I know I did1

It does happen sometimes that they disappear. It has happened to me as well before now.1

Evening. Duncan’s Dad that’s a puzzle. I have often lost the post before posting but Indie says she’s posted and it’s disappeared. We have made a bit of progress here cleaning up but the little tree all of about 18 inches high looks pathetic so I might put up the big tree tomorrow. DS was on the phone earlier he’s very upset about the lorry situation down there. He’s not going out but looking on the internet. Lorries always stack up on the M20 bypassing Folkestone. They should not go down the M2 and the A2 but some lorries do and lots of them have and blocked up the one way system in Dover. Thousands of them have had to go to the disused airport near near Margate. It’s a nightmare as the blocked roads mean lorries that have just come from Calais can’t get out of the port even.Indie hope your back is a lot better today. It must have been very painful. Hope you are offered the vaccine soon. Agree with you about work.Take care all.2

Hello - thought I'd join the forum after spending a good while lurking ... one of the reasons being that I'd like to enter more comps (I've never won anything up to now) so will be looking to pick up as many tips as possible. Thanks in advance.

Good Morning
Cold start here at -3 degrees but temp is rapidly climbing up towards zero and should get there about lunchtime.
Dad never went out for bread yesterday so the house will be filled with the pleasant smell of baking bread later and this comes just a day after he baked a fruit cake and oat biscuits, is there no end to the torture
Sorry about your back indie, it can be a crippling thing to have.
Dad heard a couple of good jokes about the lorry situation in Kent but they are far too rude to post here.

Hope everyone has a Good day. 🎄🎅🏻🎁🎉Welcome Voces and good luck.
Sounds very brrr your way Duncan. Take care when you go out. Seems some people have snow. Smell of fresh bread and cakes sounds good to me. Re Dover we thought DS was coming home or we would visit him but that didn’t happen. Last weekend we ordered a present from Argos for him they said they would deliver yesterday but email came they couldn’t deliver. DS said the town had been gridlocked with traffic for 24 hours.Take care all.3 -
Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a good day.
It's freezing here today but not quite zero. There was a heavy frost overnight, but no snow. I saw on the news some places have snow. I love the smell of freshly baked bread, always makes me feel hungry.
I hope the traffic situation eases where your DS lives soon leanfun.
My back is slowly getting better, but think the meds are helping a lot.
Enjoy your day, whatever your doing
Stay safe
