Afternoon, nice day here. Suns out and it's quite warm. There was another frost this morning but that's gone now. I went to Tesco's this morning and see they have the barriers up again. They now have red and green lights at the doors and they talk to you, lol. The red ones say "please wait" and the green one says "you may go in now".It's to save a worker standing there and getting abuse and another way they can count how many people they have through the doors. When i went there were no queues but when I came out there were 3 lines waiting. So glad I went early.
I have to agree with your dad Duncan ref the testing. I see they are trying out the 20-minute test as well as the usual ones. We are waiting for our next test to be delivered, should be sometime today. We had fireworks going last night but not as many as usual.
Compared to last time there are loads of people out and about, I have been surprised at that.
    Have a good weekend

Had a lovely day here after a frosty start, was an amazingly warm and sunny week for us.
We are due lots of rain now though!
Havent seen any supermarket queues for a long time anywhere we have been although we do tend to avoid Friday and
Saturday shops. Even got traffic light system in our small Tesco but never had to wait yet. Someone is usually at the door and cleans the trollies too! Starting to think about getting Xmas presents although it doesnt seem right.
Got my parents birthdays coming up dad will be 87 on 11th and mum 80 on 24th. It is sad we cant have a party for mum as we have always had them for decade birthdays etc for both of them. They get annoyed we can't even go in the house and they don't want to come out into the garden in  the cold (allowed in Scotland) Just hoping we don't get put into full lockdown although I feel the central belt will be.
DS3 is hoping to get some hours next week if things dont get worse. He isn't getting any money at all.
Did anyone see that Sage is suggesting we celebrate Xmas with family in the summer!!!!!!

Morning, I didn't see the report from Sage sheils but it is an idea. I don't think many people will want that but I am with you on buying Christmas presents. It doesn't seem right and I am not feeling it at all. It is a shame you can't have a party for your mums 80th maybe have one when this pandemic is all over, although when that is is anyone guess. I hope your DS3 can get some hours next week,is it in a resturant?
I have been up since silly o clock but will try and get a nap later. We had loads of fireworks going off last night so think people waited till Sat night more so than the 5th.
Hope you all have a good day

Morning.  Sunny here this morning.  Sheils I too never saw the report about having Christmas in the summer.   I have bought some things already for the GKS.  Some of the family always come here but this year both DDs have already ordered Christmas food.   I don’t think DD1 who lives nearest to us has ever cooked on Christmas Day.
Sheils it’s never the same when the birthday isn’t celebrated on the day.  This year in January DH was 80.  He was just over a terrible cold and then I had it.  He hadn’t wanted to go out to a restaurant but wanted family at home.  In the event none of that happened with the worst colds we have ever had. On the day he felt better and went to M&S and bought some food.  Later in Feb when DD2 was here other DD came and we had a nice meal with three GKs. but it didn’t feel really special.  Just noticed your Mum’s birthday is the same as our DS’s.  Also they have the same age gap as us. Hope your DS gets some hours.  These are such difficult times.
We have been lucky with online shopping for fish, meat and veg.   I think we need to book online slots for other things while we can.  Hope you have been able to get slots FireFly.
Fortunately we have not needed to go out for a big shop.   I did venture to our local coop last week for a couple of things but it’s too small and there were a lot of people there even though I thought it would be a quiet time.
Friend’s son tested positive for  virus a month ago.  I spoke to his sister yesterday and she said he still has bad cough and is very weak. He’s in his 40’s and has always been very fit.

Indie hope you have a rest later.  We are up the creak with timings.  We have been staying up too late.  I am going to cook a roast dinner today it’s never the same when it’s only for two.

Duncan’s Dad how you doing with the pruning?  I have the garden bin nearly full again.
Yesterday I managed to go out to prune the bush in front garden that I had to leave unfinished last month due to so much rain.  Unfortunately from neglect there’s compost in the middle of it so it’s not a straight forward job.  It was amazing how many people were out when we are in lockdown.  I said to husband lots of people must be exercising!

Make the most of the weekend folks.
    Take care and stay safe.

Been a wet day here. Did get out for a 20min walk which was better than nothing I suppose!
    Anyway got my ironing done.
DH and I missed celebrating our silver wedding properly this year and I have the feeling my 60th will be a non event in March!
So glad we got to see our GS on his 1st birthday.
Yes indie, DS3's job is in an Italian restaurant if all goes well. Problem is it has to close at 8pm. Just hope Perth stays in Tier 2 as it was going to get lumped into Tayside which includes Dundee which is doing badly and in Tier 3. No alcohol can be served in Tier 3 and places close at 6pm so lots of places just don't open.
I don't blame people for going out leanfun especially with kids. As long as you can distance I don't see a problem after all lots of people are working all week and the kids at school they deserve time out. We don't tend to do much at weekends as we have plenty of time through the week. Only thing we often do is go to the small local Tesco on a Sunday morning as that seems to be a really quiet time.

Afternoon everyone  :) It really doesn’t feel like a lockdown here, there’s so many people walking past our house. I wouldn’t normally notice but it seems really loud outside here today!
Sheils, hope you get to celebrate yours and parents bdays. I had my 50th in June and it was very quiet.  :| The dog was 9 yr old yesterday and he had more fun! DD1 is 21 on 4th Dec so hoping we are not still in lockdown. She doesn’t want to do anything but I’m hoping I can persuade her to go bingo if it opens. Hope everything works out for your son.
We’ve still got fireworks going off here indie too, at daft o’clock in the morning. I was wondering when Tesco would follow Lidl with the traffic lights. Mind you I haven’t been out anywhere for a while, DH has been doing shopping.
I so miss having Xmas dinner at my mum & dads house Leanfun. Mam isn’t interested in Xmas since dad passed away now. She will probably have a dinner from my sister but I can imagine not wanting to leave the house this year. I’m looking forward to the day I have GK’s around the table if it will ever happen!
Well I stayed up late the other night doing comps (couldn’t sleep really), but I was quite pleased with myself for entering them again. I should be back at work next week finally. I’ve had chest/kidney infection due to the Covid but antibiotics are clearing it up. I am feeling really festive though now watching all the Xmas movies and looking forward to Xmas this year. We all need a bit of cheer after the rubbish year everyone has had.
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

Afternoon, well done for entering the comps wingo.Let's hope it's lucky for you. Our Lidl's don't have the traffic light system down here. Maybe they will get them. It's a dull day here and threatening rain, I did get out the garden and do a little tidying up earlier.
I have no work at the moment as the place i have been working has cancelled agency till lockdown ends, apparently, they are trialling something new. I know there budget was running out so what they are doing I don't know. I do know the staff won't be happy if they have to work short-staffed and they will walk out. There are other homes i could go to but have told my manager i will take 2 weeks off to recharge my batteries. Then i will see what's what. I won a HANDiBAC 3-in-1 Sanitiser Kit on a mag daily and DS won some make-up,lol. His GF is happy.
Hope you all have a good day

Afternoon.  It’s very dull here too Indie.   Sorry to hear the situation at the home where you have been working.  I think you have made a wise decision to have a break.  It will help you recuperate.    Well done on the two mags wins.  Both wins will be useful.   I keep meaning to go back to entering Mag comps.
Wingo sorry to hear you have had such a bad time with Covid, pleased to hear you are feeling better.  Wish you lots of luck with the comps. Enter and forget but you never know.  Not much luck in the Inn lately but maybe on the chance with Indie and her DS’s wins.
Looks as though it’s going to rain here any minute.
    Take care all.

    Good Evening All

glad you are on the mend wingo, take your time though, no point in rushing back to things.
2 weeks off sounds like a good thing indie, I hope things are more settled when you return.
Dad has not been too well of late, a bit of this and a bit of that and just generally a bit down in the dumps. He got something off Freegle today that cheered him up though, some base units to fill a space in his kitchen that he has been trying to get for about 18 months, they appeared on the site yesterday, he applied last night and got the email to go and collect at lunchtime.
    Take Care

Evening.   Duncan great to hear from you.  Sorry your Dad has been unwell and do hope he’s a bit better soon.  This time of year does make one feel a bit low, especially if you feel a bit under the weather.   Before you can turn around it’s dark again.   So pleased to hear he has had some luck off Freegle.  It’s great when it’s something you want really cheery just like a comp win.

It was sunny here up to lunch time.  We didn’t sleep well last night so slow moving.  We did make it out for a walk but sun went in and it was windy.  We came back gasping for a hot coffee.
    Stay safe.
