Morning. We have been awake for ages today it was so dark and raining but has now brightened up again. Husband changed clocks yesterday. Firefly you sounded very snug after your shower and hot soup. Congratulations on your win. It’s great when you win something you know will be really liked. Our DS doesn’t usually talk much but after months of no one to talk to he was very talkative for him. It’s strange having someone else in house. Only our friend’s daughter has been once or twice for a quick visit and DD1 came with grandson months ago in garden so we have had no so called bubble and neither has DS.We had an Iceland order yesterday as DS is vegetarian and we needed some Quorn food for him. I was very impressed with them we only ordered Friday evening. The delivery was just before a terrible downpour. The drains couldn’t cope and the roads around the house had streams and it was extremely windy but fortunately it didn’t last too long.
indie great news your DS has been offered another job even if it’s only a few hours. Take care at work.
I’ve busy looking up arts and crafts things for 5 and 7 year old GKs as they are in half term next week and have told DD2 they want to make things for Halloween. It’s surprising what you can find online.Have a good Sunday. Stay safe.3 -
Good Morning
The kids are due to go back to school today after their 2 week break so we will get the footpaths back from all their bikes and scooters.
Quite cold here every day now and Dad is thinking about putting the heating on, considering that he is yet to start using a quilt on his bed, I have my doubts.
I was bombarded by loud exhausts on our last walk yesterday, they should be banned, especially after dark, they sound too much like fireworks
Shopping again today.

Morning, well done on the win Firefly. I think my comping fairy has gone on holiday, lol.
Good to hear the Iceland delivery was quick leanfun,i like shopping there as you can get some good bargains.
Our kids have only just started their holidays here Duncan so lots of bikes and scooters everywhere. Hope you have some good walks today.
Work was ok yesterday as I was on the ground floor so not really a lot to do, compared to the other floors. We have the sun out here so going to put some washing out later. Obi has his last vets check-up this morning so when he sees his carrier out he won't be happy with us.
Hope you all have a good day

Hi everyone,Sorry I havent been around. We have been having a few breaks as I know some of you have seen on social media.Managed to see our grandson on his first birthday which was good. He is officially in the central belt lockdown area although they live in the countryside. We stayed in Stirling which was so strange with restaurants and pubs shut. Also managed to see DS3 who is still unemployed. He was due to start work in an Italian restaurant in Perth on the Monday the new restrictions started but the restaurant has just closed instead. Doubt the restrictions will ease (no alchol and 6pm closing) so that will be that I expect. He hasn't worked since March and only then for 2 weeks as he had had a broken ankle so things pretty bad.Glad your son has found other work indie.Sorry to hear you have been ill with the virus wingo. DD had to have an extra test last week as she had a temperature and sore throat but she was negative. Everything is such a worry. Did the rest of your family catch it?Well done on the prize FF.Kids back at school here to Duncan and we do have the heating on.Good you are seeing some of your family leanfun. DD is part of our bubble so can come when she wants although with the Covid scare and us being away we havent seen her for a couple of weeks.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Morning, glad you got your breaks in sheils. Can't believe it's been a year since your GS was born, where did that time go. I wish they would hurry up and finish testing the new way to test for covid as I am sure your DD is getting fed up with having to wait for the results as we are at work. Sometimes it comes back within 2 days, other times it 4-5 days. I saw a report yesterday on Boots offering a test and getting the results 15 mins later but there are only certain ones doing it. It didn't say how much it would cost though.
It is raining here at the moment and very dark still. I Haven't decided what I am doing today yet.
Hope you all have a good day

Good Morning All
Glad you enjoyed your breaks sheilsif your boy lives anywhere near the M90 he might want to think about applying for a job at Amazon in Dunfermline, they are hiring warehouse folk right now.
Indie, I think I read that the Boots test is £125.
Rain forecast here this afternoon but this morning the hunt is on for a Post Office, the one closest to us closed last week and guess what? Dad needs to use one this week. The shop closing was Covid related, the business had dropped off so much that they were making a loss on the normal business (Newsagents/off licence). The nearest PO that we know of is about 2 miles away which makes it a long trek when carrying a parcel.
On the good news side, Dad has received two lots of £50 cash for doing online surveys 🤑 and also been offered £50 for the golf club that he won 💰

Morning. Great you are all ok Sheils and have managed to go away. We cancelled our holidays but were able to get refunds on flights. Like Indie it doesn’t seem to me like a year since your GS was born. Great you were able to see him on his birthday. Sorry to hear about your DS. It’s been very hard for those in catering. Agree the testing results are taking too long and apart from the stress the virus is spread when people don’t quarantine. The other day I counted 12 people we know who have had the virus. One lady died in a home in March and another friend has been left with serious lung problems. Our friend with Parkinson’s is in hospital with it and we don’t think he will be able to go home again. We were very shocked when this friend caught it. We have been extra cautious all along. We are lucky that we are able to have the internet and keep in touch with the GKs all except the two in Scotland, who we miss. Of the others the nine and seven year old GS’s Facetime us themselves and each other. It’s great we have the internet.Last few days I’ve been cooking. DS is vegetarian so I made a veggie lasagne that turned out well. FireFly it was great to just take out some ready cooked apples from the freezer and and a bag of ready made crumble and just put over some the apples all done instantly and no preparation washing up. Duncan’s Dad I have made another apple scone round and that was enjoyed.
Hope you are feeling much better Wingo and Indie hope you have a restful day.4 -
Bucketing here, really dreich!
Indie, DD usually gets her results back the same day! Not sure where they are done.
Boots said it would be £120 for a test to start with.
DS3 lives in Perth and can’t drive Duncan which is a shame. One of his chef pals has gone to work at Amazon so he had looked at it. I’m just hoping if Scotland allows alcohol to be sold with a meal his restaurant might reopen as it does takeaways too (when open)
Well done to your dad on the cash. Hope you get a nice walk.
Must be hard knowing so many people who have had the virus leanfun. We don’t know anyone apart from wingo! DD says some nurses have it from her hospital but none that she really knows and no patients yet. Care homes in area have been badly hit this time though after not being affected much in last wave. Our figures shot up over that.
Going to try and do a few comps today, not had much notion TBH.
Got a pile of ironing to do as well.

Morning, wow that's a lot of pennies to pay at Boots for a test. I won't be using that service.
Well done on the survey cash Duncan's dad. Hope you get some good walks in today Duncan.
I have only heard of 3 people who had Covid. I know we had tests come back positive in the home but they never had a temp or anything. ( my nephews nephew and GF.they are both in there 20's and had it bad, but didn't need to go to the hospital. I had an email from my cousin in kent she had a call from another cousin whose dad had died from Covid. He had a carer coming in to tend his wife who had broke her hip and the carer was positive for covid. and passed it on. He had phenomena but was recovering well till then. My aunt has it as well but not as bad. So hopefully she will recover. They live in Yorkshire. I haven't seen them for years but we all keep in touch through emails. It's a wicked virus and let's hope they find a vaccine soon
Hope you have a good day
