Brilliant news about your tests Indie what a relief.   It’s been cold and wet here today. Also DD1 has been working from home and has problems with Wifi.   She decided to come here today!  She lives about half an hour away  Fortunately there is a desk in our smallest bedroom and she stayed up there.  She’s gone off to pick GS up from after school club.
Duncan hope you were able to go out for the long walk and stay dry.
FireFly I keep meaning to say if online slots become scarce have a look at Iceland.  I was surprised how much fresh groceries they sell.   They don’t charge delivery if you spend £35.  DS has used them.
    Take care.

    Good afternoon :)
Good result indie, testing is the key to stopping transmission of the virus but is should not take so long to get the results, people need to be aware of all possible transmissions all the time.

I was at the vet today for my annual check-up and got the all clear, I also got my kennel cough vaccine, worming tabs and flea & tick tabs to get me through the next 6 months. Dad was not allowed in with me and had to wait out in the reception area but he was OK, one of the receptionists sat with him and kept him calm until I came back to get him.
We had our long walk yesterday (7 miles) and the 3.5 miles today took longer because of the vet visit, so long in fact that I missed both bin lorries while we were out :(

Morning.  Quite bright but chilly here this morning.
Duncan thought of you earlier.  Our household bin lorries came really early when it was still dark. The other lorries come later.  Sorry you missed yours yesterday. Great you have all all the tablets extra you need for next six months.  I’m sure the vets looked after you well.  Great you had your walks.
Yesterday I started to prune the big hypericum in the front garden but went at it with secateurs Instead of the hedge trimmer.  It’s going to take quite a few goes as it’s so tall.   Still I nearly filled the bin yesterday just need a few dry days.
Duncan’s Dad agree with you about testing and results.
Hope everyone has a good day.  Take care.

Morning, glad you had the all-clear at the vets Duncan. That was nice of the  receptionists to keep your dad calm. I know how he felt as we are not allowed in when we go. Talking of vets, Obi is having his op tomorrow being neutered..ouchie!. He has been banished to upstairs at the moment as he knocked my pictures off the wall, he decided he wanted a closer look and jumped up at them on the wall. Luckily there was no damage.
We have an Iceland near us leanfun and I often pop in. I have used them before for deliveries when I had a big order. They were good. No problems at all.Good luck with finishing the
    hypericum.
    Have a good day
    Stay safe.
  • Hiya, I've been thinking about introducing myself ever since I joined the forum last year but always seem to chicken out!!

I had a bit of a comping break so far this year and have started to get back into it, so I seemed to have missed all the updates and technical problems! There's some bits that aren't making any sense to me, the tick boxes are useful but is there a way to see how many you've entered daily or in a lifetime? I'm a huge nerd so stats like that interest me!!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to those who post the competitions they find. I try and leave compliments with all the posts I open, I have no idea whether you can see them left... hope so!

Anyway, thank you again and I hope you and your families are well and keeping warm.

Hi Jessica.     Welcome back to comping.  You did well to miss the updates etc.  It was a tedious time for all.   I don’t think there’s anyway to see how many you have entered.    Like you it’s a huge thank you to all who post.   Many more people are entering comps than a few years ago but who knows it’s luck and a hobby. Good Luck.

Indie sounds as though Obi is having a right adventurous time.  Hope all goes well at vets today’s day it’s not too bad for you all.

Duncan hope your feet are completely better and your Dad’s cracks are improving so you can enjoy your walks.
I did quite well with the bush yesterday.   A little at a time even if it looks odd.  I came in for a drink and then it poured with rain so will try again with it today.   More restrictions from tomorrow here but they won’t make much difference to life for us at present.   We had a Sainsbury’s order yesterday and it’s started again with things missing.
    Take care all.

    Evening All :)
I hope Obi is OK after his op, I don't remember mine but the effects are there for all to see, I am a nervous wreck most of the time with the lack of testosterone in my system.
I am back up to full speed again feet wise but with Dad now a year older he is still finding it difficult to keep up with me.
Hi brain is going as well, buying smoke alarms today he bought the wrong heat sensor alarm, he read online that it could be interlinked with all the others that he was buying but what he never saw was that while the others are wifi, this one has to be hard wired so we will need to take it back tomorrow.
Pruning is not easy, always best to do a bit at a time then stand back and look from a distance to see if you have the right shape, Dad has still to do about 6 bushes in his garden but can only do a bin full at a time, the lavatera was done last week and it alone filled the bin.

Afternoon, Hi Jessica.and welcome back. As leanfun there is no way to see how many comps you have entered. Just enter what interests you and fingers crossed you win.
I hope there weren't too many things missing from your order leanfun. It must be annoying when that happens.
I would do what your dad did with the smoke alarms Duncan, sounds like me all over.I brought a loft ladder once and only realized later it was an extension for a loft ladder that was no good to me as I didn't have a loft ladder. lol
Obi's op went ok but he wouldn't give in to sleep last night. He was stumbling all over the place like he was drunk, lol. He got his cone of shame undone once and even got it off but we got it back on quick. They don't stitch the wound and being a cat he wants to clean himself all the time and every time he tries he rolls over. It's funny really, well for us watching it is. We hope like you Duncan he doesn't remember the op or he has something missing.
I hope you all have a good weekend
    Stay safe

Afternoon.  Typical chilly dull afternoon here.   Indie pleased to hear Ob’s op went well.  Sounds funny watching re the cone.  Hope he settles down soon. Not too much missing from shopping.
Duncan’s Dad hope you were able to change the fire alarm.    Two years ago we had a new boiler with a hive operated by Wifi.  Took us ages to get used to it.  Last night DH thought it wasn’t working but today we think the Wifi must have gone down.  Ho Ho for new technology.
Very quiet here and I didn’t feel like more pruning.  Thanks for the tip Duncan’s Dad.  Last time I was working in bush I did stand back and look.  It’s strange because in previous years when I have just pruned it with hedge trimmer I have been able to get a good shape straight away.  This year I’m drastically pruning it well that’s if I make it out there again.  I think it’s going to be warmer here in the week.   So instead of gardening I’ve been baking. I made another apple scone round that turned out well and just made an apple cake to use up all the apples.  We had a number of peppers and I’ve found out how easy it is to freeze them.
Have a good evening all.  Take care.

    Good Afternoon All
The rain has returned to Fife, not heavy as yet but still wet.
Indie, I had the cone of shame on for about a week, Dad took it off when we were out walking and when he could keep an eye on me to stop me licking the stitches.
Got the alarm exchanged OK but don't get the replacement until tomorrow, also had to take back a drill sharpener to Lidl today, useless is putting it mildly.
Dad is now a 'caretaker mod' for another 7 Freegle groups so I have to let him use the computer more often, there is a beep alarm to tell him that work needs done, he just leaves a window open on the page all the time now and that way he can just wait for the beep.
