Morning, I have had a busy 2 days at work but time went quickly. We have a resident test positive last week on the test but as we had 76 residents tested he was the only one. All staff was ok as well. We think the test is wrong as he has no visitors and doesn't go out but he is in quarantine now and the home is still on lockdown. They are testing everyone again today. So let's see what comes back. Obi went for a check-up yesterday and he is healing ok, they said take the cone off but put back on he starts licking the wound. He has had it off to clean himself then when he goes down below we had to put it back on. Show me any cat that doesn't always clean themselves, lol. He has to go back next week for a final check-up.
I am off out food shopping today and have my 2nd load of washing in.
Hope you all have a good day
    Stay safe.

    Good Morning :)

Must be frustrating about the testing indie to have someone with no outside contact give a positive result.
Dad's toaster has expired and he is on the lookout for another one but none of them seem to take the size of slice that is marketed as a 'toastie' loaf, he may end up getting another long slot machine again just so that he can toast 2 slices.
Bin day again so I hope we are at home this week so I can let off some steam.
    Take care

Morning it’s very dark and dull here this morning still.    Indie agree a positive test with someone with no outside contact is odd.   The tests are not completely reliable for sure.  Hope you are out of lockdown soon.  The strangest thing is that you can have the virus with no symptoms.
Dungan’s Dad most toasters seem to be the sliced bread size and then you need thick bread.  That’s ok until Sainsbury’s send bread that says thick sliced but it’s thin sliced that’s too thin for the toaster!   Occasionally we buy a sliced loaf locally that is wholemeal but shaped like a bloomer but slices don’t fit in toaster.  I have to say I leave the toaster to DH.  Ages ago I won some vouchers and we bought what is supposed to be an all singing and dancing toaster.  You would think buying a new toaster would be simple.     Well done on your involvement with the Freebie group.

We had a strange day here yesterday.   I found online a nice bobble had and scarf I thought would make a present for DD2.  Site said Ted Baker London.  ULR said sale Ted online.   There were two styles of hats so I thought I would buy one for myself and I added something else. Hats were more than I would normally pay even at sale price.  I went to pay and it came back with something like payment do not honour!     Bells started ringing and I looked up ULR on google and it said fake site.  To be honest I’m not sure if site or goods are fake but the fact the credit card payment didn’t go through.  I phoned the credit card and had card cancelled.  Thankfully I was paying by credit card.  I usually do check out company details if it’s somewhere I have not bought from before but nearly slept up there.

On Saturday I had delivery of one pair of new glasses.  At opticians we had opted for collection as they said they were going to be delivered by Hermes.  Monday we had a phone call from opticians to collect glasses.  So we collected them yesterday and they were able to fit them properly.  So husband is delighted now he has the correct prescription.  Down side is as we came out of shopping centre DH took off his mask and thinks that’s when he lost one of his hearing aids!   So we now have loud TV again.

Hope everyone has a good day.  Take care.

Morning everyone, hope you are all well. I didn’t get chance to get back on here as I’m just getting over covid unfortunately  :/ One of our bubble in the school at work had to isolate due to flat mate testing positive. After getting a cough and raging temp I also tested positive. I hadn’t been anywhere for weeks other than work and a local supermarket for food. I pretty much went downhill all week after that! I would not wish this on anyone. Hopefully I can get a bit of comping time now as it’s half term next week anyway. I’m currently amused sat watching the dog getting annoyed at all the leaves blowing off the trees near him. For a border collie, he doesn’t do outdoors well!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

Morning, I hate toasters as never seem to get one that fits all. I have to turn the bread round and do it the other end. Luckily I love burnt toast as I forget it's in there, lol.
I hope you were able to let off some steam yesterday Duncan and didn't miss the binmen.
leanfun there are so many fake sites out there, it's untrue. Even on FB and IG seem to have loads now. Glad your DH has his glasses sorted but not good ref the hearing aids. Will you have to order a new pair now or can you get single ones?
Sorry to hear you had Covid wingo,I wish more people would take it seriously. The long-term effects can be worse than the virus.
We are lucky down here at the moment as the numbers are not too bad but they think we are a few weeks behind the north so am expecting we will be in lockdown before Christmas. Work is getting busy as the rooms are filling up fast, we are full on the top floor now that's 30 residents, and the middle and bottom floor have 2 empty rooms but they have been viewed so expect they will be taken soon. I am off today and back working tomorrow so time to play catch up with shopping, washing and comping
Hope you all have a good day
    Stay safe

Morning sunny here today.   Wingo so sorry to hear you have had the virus. Take care and rest up over half term as much as you can.  Your dog outside made me smile.
The numbers in our area are rising again and we are on level 2.  I heard yesterday another young friend has the virus.     Indie hope you have a bit of a rest today.  Yes, indie many fake sites about.  DH had his hearing aid from the hospital so he will have to contact them and see what they can do.  It’s a shame because they were specially made for him.  DH has a real problem with masks and finds it hard to breath and he was wearing glasses.  The aids are quite small and light.    Duncan hope it’s fine for you to go out today.
    Stay safe all.

    Good Afternoon
Take care wingo, I am told the after effects can take a while to clear your system. I am mostly border collie and it is noises rather than movement that tend to get me excited or scared but I would spend all day outside if I could.
I never got to bark at the bin lorry yesterday, it came and went during our 10am walk :(
Dad's golf club arrived yesterday, he has no one to give it to so it may go on sale somewhere.
He left me at home this morning while he went to get his flu jab and some shopping but we have had some nice walks already today between the rain showers.
Have a good day off indie and you know yourself to watch out for the new arrivals when you go back to work tomorrow.
    Take care.

Morning.  Yes, change clock time Duncan.   Just dull here no rain yet today.  Sorry you will miss football.  Hope you don’t get too wet when you venture out.
Yesterday we went out!    We drove down to see our DS he has been by himself since he went back in early March.  He’s had a hard time as what he was doing stopped with the lockdown.   The washing machine is not working there so we brought him and the washing home.  He normally doesn’t talk much but never stopped.   It’s strange having someone else in the house when it has just been the two of us for so long.   He lives in a very low virus area in the countryside and has been isolated except for going out for walks.
Some good news.  Yesterday I saw one of DH’s hearing aids and put it where he would see it on the table.  Last night he was suddenly very happy he’d just seen one upstairs and so now had two.  Before we went to pick up the glasses he had answered the phone and he can’t hear on the phone with hearing aid in and had taken it out and gone out with only one hearing aid.   What a relief he doesn’t have to contact the hospital for a new set.  This is the second time he’s done this.
Wingo  hope you are beginning to feel better and good luck with any comps.  Not much luck about recently although I did win 10p on Hummingbird.
Thinking if you Indie. Take care.    Firefly take care not to get wet going out to the birds.
Hope everyone has a reasonable weekend.

Afternoon, it's been raining on and off here all morning and it's very windy. I put the heating on today as was cold. I never went to work yesterday as they cancelled but am due to go in the next 2 days. It was DS's birthday yesterday so we had a pizza takeaway, his choice. He also heard he got a part-time job at W.H.Smiths. Only 12 hours a week but that's all he wanted as the cinema is only open at the weekends (since the makers keep cancelling the big film releases). Everyone there is on minimum hours at the moment and that's only 8 per week. As the furlough ends this month he knew he won't get much pay until the cinema is back to 7 days opening, he said he will take this job and when the cinema is back to opening full time he will give the Smiths job up.
Thanks for the reminder about clocks going back Duncan, I will go and do the clock in my bedroom next time i go upstairs or i will forget, lol. Luckily the phone and PC do it automatically so no worries there.
Good news about finding the hearing aid leanfun. I hope you and your DS had a good catch up.
    Have a good weekend
    Stay safe
