  • OP don't you have a BOS cheque book? if not ask for one (in writing) then write a cheaque and deposit in your nationwide account...simples
  • I actually tend to resort to sending companies messages on Twitter - yes you need an account but you don't have to use it for anything else if you don't want to. It tends to get quite swift replies and if they can't discuss it via Direct Message they usually give an e-mail address (or if not automatically, they should if you explain you need a non-speaking option).

... though I've just seen BOS told someone they can't communicate via e-mail. But at least over Twitter will get your complaint and situation directly to a human rather than not knowing where snail mail will end up or if anyone even sees it.

Ah a little bit info at a time? Then simply switch to an other bank or open a new account with an other bank and transfer your money.

I already have another bank account - Nationwide - but cannot even log on to my BOS account - that is the problem - I have been locked out !
Besides - You cannot "MOVE" money from one bank to another - without having access to the first one !
I was using BOS current account as a easy access savings account
BOS appear to be totally ignorant of equal opps rules/laws - how do they get away without providing access to disabled people ?
Nationwide have on-line chat facilities as well as email - BOS has neither
So some more info on your problem. Have you a Lloyds branch near you? They in my past experience will call BOS on your behalf. Or as previously suggested switch. https://www.currentaccountswitch.co.uk/Pages/Home.aspx

You do not need access. You need your sort code and bank account number. The bank you are switching to does all the required security checks. Have you a Lloyds branch near you that you can pop in to?

    Use social media.
They will then be able to help you.
But as someone else said use the CASS as all you need are your account details and debit card no. And maybe think that a bank with a branch near you will be a help.
Mny things can not be done via internet banking and rely on speaking to people. Some banks use the text to speak or a 3rd party co who you type to and they talk to the bank.

So to use CASS  - I just need to ask Nationwide to transfer my present BOS account to them - and they will do all of the donkey work ?
Because believe it or not - despite emailing BOS on OnlineComplaints@bankofscotland.co.uk (an address found on BOS website) and also repeatedly tweeting then - they STILL will not even respond to me !
I mean - what is wrong with this bank ?

As Born again states, the bank you are switching will also need your debit card number for an online switch if you decide to do that. Some banks are offering cash incentives etc at the moment if you switch to them.
