I just called and was told this is a nationwide problem, not a problem with the display or the meter itself, but with the signalling. The guy said he'd add me to a spreadsheet to record I have this problem, but there's nothing he can do because it's to do with the telcoms firm that supplies the signal. He advised to keep the display on as eventually there should be a fix and the display will activate again. He confirmed all data is still being recorded and they have access to it.Will do zebie. I've popped this thread in my diary and will post once it's been confirmed the issue is fixed. Thanks again for your understanding zebie and have a good weekend.MalcMany thanks for the update zebie. It's good the IHD is now working as it should.Malc“Official Company Representative

Hello rojanu and welcome to the Forums.
I'm sorry you're seeing the same as zebie with the 'waiting for current data' issue on your In Home Display (IHD).
There's been little change since I posted on 14 February 20 above. Work to sort this has been temporarily stopped as we divert resources due to the Coronavirus pandemic. As the crisis deepens and our staff levels continue to fall, we're concentrating on emergencies, helping our vulnerable customers and making sure energy supplies are protected. Once we come out of the other side, we'll return to issues like the one with the IHD.
As I mentioned to zebie, whilst annoying, this issue won't affect the ability of the meters to automatically send us readings so your bills can be kept accurate.
Many thanks for your patience rojanu and stay safe.

If you want to know check you consumption then read the meter and go on line to your account and ensure that the meter readings are being recorded .
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers2 -

As Malc has said, work on this has stopped for the time being due to the current situation. We do ask for customers not to call at this time, as we must keep the lines free for our most vulnerable customers or customers with a threat to their supply.
The readings will still be sent to us, so don't worry about that and you can track your usage on your online account for now.
Thank you matelodave

Hi Im just tagging on this same problem... My IHD only just been installed on the 18 Feb.. and we had a local power cut two days ago.. Ever since the IHD is now sitting there with a flashing WIFI signal in the top left corner.. and says "waiting for current data" and cycling through various screens...showing IHD and GUID references...etc
When installed the guy didnt use any local WIFI network , and I assumed we connect to the smart meter via Zigbee network , and the actual meter is in a box on the outside the stone buildingin road.
Reading above it seems it being dubbed as an existing "network" problem..(i.e before my power cut..?) and hopefully my meter is actually being read...
I havent quite worked out how the read the smart meter itself yet. but when I log on to my EON account online, the meter change to smart hasnt even been recorded yet and so Ive no idea whether the meter readings on GPRS network is connected.
Surely as I must be on local Zigbee link from IHD to Smart meter.(as no one asked for a WIFI network, and I run three different SSID's here. as well as other Zigbee links too) it sounds to me like the Smart meter to IHD link needs to be reset or reprogrammed.again.. (It happens to my other Zigbee links here occasionally and needs to reset to pick up link again)
Is there not any form of manual or reset code (that the installer must have used..?), that I can find out /use to remake the local connection again... Im sure there must be a button press sequence on the meter and IHD that sets up thezigbee link btween the two? Cant be anything to do with the remote Network Operator....Why the secrecy./misinformation.
Ive waited several years to get this Smart meter finally installed, and it lasts just a few days...Itsalready been useful to show where my loads are and as Im paying EON £3400 per annum on average now, and I would like to how I can save on this...
More worrying is that we have quite a few power outages here, being a semi rural all electric site with heat pump , which doesn't bode well if we lose the Smart meter link each time... Come on EON .. sort this out please.0 -

I'm having exactly the same problem over the last few days. Constant searching for the data connection and rebooting. It's all well and good saying that the data is being sent for correct billing but surely the point of a smart meter is to monitor your usage and keep your bills down. So much for 'Smart Meters' more like 'Dumb Meters'!0
