Personally I would prefer not to have a thanks button for reasons similar to Muttley's
As the Thanks buttons are on other boards it must be that the powers that be have decided not to implement one on Discussion Time.
Perhaps someone (Cornucopia?) could explain their reasons not to have one.

Oh yes he will be  a hero ..just a small thanks button is fine, doesn't have to be bells and whistles...maybe a wave would be appropriate sort of button
