  • I don't use them so not sure which it was, but didn't some social media site ban likes or followers under the reasoning it was being used to 'bully'? Teenagers liked popular people or derogatory messages and the unpopular kids who no one clicked likes for felt lonely and unpopular leading to unfortunate circumstances in extreme times?
I hope that is not the reason here, I thought we were all grown up enough to stick up for ourselves or know when  to walk away. Although there was the odd persons who took some umbrage at lots of likes for opinions contrary to their own. There are always a few who don't accept that not everyone things the same as they do.

I am unmoved by the loss of a thank button. What purpose did it serve anyway?
A vast improvement would be a limitation on the length of posts......does anybody actually read a long post and pay more attention to it, or just view it as waffling to the crowd..._

On the contrary what has always been wrong with DT is the high proportion of soundbites,  slogans and snarls.

Some questions however need arguments. Which need more than one or two lines. Hopefully a proportion of those arguments there have been from time to time have been an education to those many who, judging by the evidence on DT, had never realised there were such things.
Sorry my posts so long - not time write shorter ones.

This thread questions the need for a "thank you" button......your post is missing an answer.

"the evidence on DT" also shows that syntax is out of fashion..._

If they want to avoid the controversy in Discussion Time over the use of "Thanks", remove identification. It is the latter aspect that causes issues, with people getting targeted for thanking a particular post.
They are treating us like kids. so what if it does cause controversy? Can't beat a good controversy :#  I've said it before, if you (general) cannot take it, then stay off boards like DT.

    THANKS!
