  • Another successful scoffing of the meal plan! first time in practically forever where we have stuck to the plan and not gone off piste by buying takeaway!!
We had pork and bramley sausages, mash white cabbage and gravy.  Even put in the last of the bag of onion rings to cook which made Mr M_F's day
I think this week has been really good for the wallet reporting on here and the grocery challenge.  We have made purchases from other "pots" and our personal spends but all have been budgeted for and thought through.  I even avoided a personal spend on wine as dearest Mr M_F "forgot" to pick it up when he walked past the shop! not sure if he had an alternative motive of making me go on the wagon but its probably best for my wallet and health.
Tomorrow shall involve a nice glass of something for both of us as is Friday tradition along with the last of the meal plan chilli.  No deviation from plan will happen tomorrow as chilli chips and cheese is one of my most favorite meals ever.  Without wanting to wish my life away.....roll on Friday evening and weekend!!!! • Have to admit I don't know if MrL do the deals any more.  They didn't used to take credit cards, and we had no cash other than the £20 per week my then apprenticed stepson contributed which I used to invest in MrL.  I had a long running diary on mortgagefreeinthree forums about living off that £20 but lost all the resources when the site went.

Shame you lost your thread redo.  Not to worry about the deals.  We are popping out and about tomorrow anyway so I may pop in to Mr L but if not will definitely be visiting Mr Al Dee anyway.

I have decided to give us a little stretch target.  One of our zero percent deals ends right at the end of July so the stretch goal is to get that little £549.61 paid off by then.  According to YNAB this will need approximately an extra £65.00 a month to find which doesn't sound much but on top of filling up our other pots and with having some major expenses due soon like MOT, Service, Family Birthdays etc it will make us have to stick to the new budgets religiously.  Some of the pots aren't needed until later in the year so I could technically rob them to make the over payments but I don't want to do that as we will then be in the same boat later on.
Off to update the signature with the stretch target B)

  • Good luck with the stretch target!  I always found that getting rid of the little debts gave me great pleasure. It's like clutter busting - another one bites the dust!
