Oh dear after the excitement of yesterday we succumbed to an off piste takeaway! We kept the spend lowish (£17.50 inc. tip) but we are out for a planned meal today with friends so the eating out pot will be taking a hit! ahem
**slaps own wrist hard** Back to the moving saving:
As previously mentioned the bills have been "fully buffered" (ynab speak don't ya know) and we have one zero percent deal ready to pay off as soon as the usual DD hits our account. Unfortunately this is very much the first foot on the mountain and we have a way to go yet with our debt but the momentum is building.
The meal plan for the week ahead is as follows:
Sat - Meal out with friends as planned
Sun - Southern Fried Baked Chicken using fave Spice place mix, BBQ Beans, Mini cobettes and wedges
Mon - Jackets, Cheese, Coleslaw and Salad
Tues - Egg Fried Rice -Eat Well for Less recipe with added cashew nuts
Weds - Freezer Fish, chips and peas
Thurs - Chicken casserole, mash and Green veg. (This was going to be pork casserole but we are using up the chicken we defrosted yesterday and didnt use) - will be cooked today in SC and frozen ready to heat up.
Fri -Chilli, Chips (me)/ Rice (Mr M_F) and cheeseDedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

As mentioned in the GC March thread we had a delivery from Mr T yesterday. The chicken was bigger than I wanted for making HM SFC but I have done the MSE thing and chopped it in half before portioning. The two halves are a bit smaller than we would usually use but we can bulk up with other things. One half minus the wing has gone into freezer for a roast later in the month.
The other half and extra wing will be used tomorrow. We have one wing, half a breast and a thigh/drumstick each already. I may sneak a bit off the breasts I am using later today to make a chicken casserole to do a couple of strip type things to bulk Mr M_F's portion out but that's not bad out one smallish free range chicken. Lucky we have Iceland chicken chunks in the freezer for the troublesome duo cos they definitely not getting a look in from Mr M_F with those portion sizes lolDedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

My mum used to do sausages to stretch a small chicken. If we were really lucky it was a sausage wrapped in bacon.
good news on the payout, pleased for you.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thanks Redo. We had the SFC tonight but have to admit it wasnt the best spicentice meal we have had. The vurrys etc are lovely but this was a bit too much faff and a bit dry in honesty. The accomplements were lovely. Frozen corn on the cob. Bbq beans and Mr M_F's spicey wedges so we didnt go hungry. The other half will be a roast dinner so will stretch it out with yorky pud and stuffing 😎Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

Ok time to fess up. You know that buffer I was showing off about well its had a hit. We decided to replace a much needed item at home. Its not took us into more debt but has reduced our buffer so Im treating it as a debt to ourselves if you see what I mean. Slurges stop NOW!Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓
