I keep getting a 404 message "Site not found" when I click on post links/back button etc.  Doesn't happen all the time and if I wait for 20 secs usually the refresh button returns me to the forum.  Is this something that's already been raised?

It's not just "essentially cosmetic", it's fundamental to the way these challenges work. Your wording is very dismissive and you don't give the impression that you have taken part in any of the challenges or understand what they are about.
Yes, I wouldn't disagree that my wording is dismissive, but really only of the self-important wording of the likes of "just wanted to reiterate that emojis should look like the following list" and "If I say something is really important, it's because it's really important", rather than the substance of the observations themselves!

I design pages for a living. On the old site the default setting for imported images placed them to the left of the screen. On the new site, they're centred. Most forums that I have come across set them left and it works fine. Normal photographs fill up most of the available space and look much the same whether centred or set left. Smaller images look ridiculous sitting in the middle of the white space by themselves. I think you will also find on most forums that smileys/emojis are used as parts of sentences. They, also, do not work floating in the middle of the page by themselves. So setting pics to the left would in fact greatly improve usability across the entire website.
For the record, I do agree with you that images should be left-aligned, but am simply challenging the notion that this is particularly important relative to many of the other snags identified on this thread.  That's my opinion, and you have yours, as we're both entitled to have, so it's up to the MSE hierarchy to decide what genuinely is important, and, who knows, they may be influenced by your attempts to rally support for your cause by encouraging others to post on this thread, despite it clearly not being intended for misuse as some sort of lobbying platform.  Anyway, I'm conscious of the irony of saying that while continuing to debate this issue on here so probably ought to leave it at that!

As per cathybird’s comments, could I please ask respectfully whether the emoji presentation issues on the ‘Cutting down alcohol’ thread in Debt Free Diaries could be fixed when there is time? It may seem trivial but the emoji awards for reaching certain milestones really do have a powerful motivation for posters / gives us a visible goal to aim for. Thank you.

For Now the is a 'hack'  Select the code button and use the code below to move it left.

Been through the list of complaints/suggestions/snagging and cannot see this one.  When using advanced search, it is suggested to "just type" in the Author box and it brings up a list of Authors but it is incomplete.  For example, today I was trying to find (and this is an example not using real name) Sid9945, when I typed "Sid" I was presented with all sorts of options but none of them were Sid9945 but when I typed Sid9945, lo and behold there it was.  an explanation of how to use advanced search (if I was doing ti incorrectly) or a fix if I was using it in the intended manner.

But surely mse Tine also said that they'd be updating Post 1 so that we could see, at a glance, what had been noted already. If we accept that then are we to assume that mse Tine hasn't read the thread they started so hasn't updated the list?
MSE_Tine has posted here half-a-dozen times since s/he started the thread, so has clearly been reading it.  Also, Misslayed (the Board Guide here) has assured us that she is reading every post, and making sure the team are aware of any brand-new snags which are posted.

  • Loving the new forum.....despite these two snags:
1, Password nightmare when I first logged in, needed to change my password even though I’ve already done it.

2, Broken Links to the MMDs

Hi - I post the weekly charts on the I wanna buy it or do it weigh in thread - the charts don't appear to be working.
I'm not sure if it's because it's in png format - the old forum accepted this format.
    Thanks

When you edit the title of a thread, the url changes. If someone has bookmarked that thread in their web browser before that edit is made, will the bookmark still work afterwards?
The thread is defined by the 7 digit number. The title in the address is ignored.

Can we have the option to not display signatures by default and then users can turn them on if they want to read the life story, trials and tribulations of the person who posted the thread?
You can disable signatures in your profile settings.
