I couldn't find an easy way searching within a thread so not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but the fonts for NOTIFICATIONS, INBOX, BOOKMARKS and PROFILE seems a bit light/thin against the background colour and the icons for NOTIFICATIONS, INBOX and BOOKMARKS crops the top off their respective words.

soooo maybe first world problems in here!
give the team a break.
a lot of the issues, seem to be from old tech, you simply cannot expect a piece of tech from ten years ago to use the site the same way (for lots of reasons many wont understand).
or browser issues, if your using Edge / IE then please get hold of chrome or firefox, they are sooo much better in many many ways not just how they handle sites!
this is progress and i for one like it, it's cleaner and more modern... which tbf if your a "netizen" you should be embracing it, and not just expecting things to stay the same or fear change! (although granted i do know a lot seem to come online JUST for this site).

I have found 229 messages in my spam folder. This is odd because on the first day they were coming into my inbox.

The settings for the emails I did find by trial and error. However, the tick boxes cannot be seen on portrait view on my mobile, hence it took me a while to find them, on landscape. Not intuitive at all.

this is simply because of your email provider thinking a lot of emails in short time or emails without you reading them (and thus showing they are important to you), is spam, so they have took the decision (automatically) to divert them away from you.

Does anyone see a way to sort posts in a thread? I want new posts at the top, but I can't see how to get that.
Having found the rather obscure location of "mark all read" all the "new" tags have disappeared, even on threads with new posts since then! Is "marking all read" a toggle, instead of a one time action?

Thank you for the explanation. I guessed moderators can read private messages, but that's only a few people and I thought that wouldn't persist after the PM had been deleted, so only for a small window of time. Looks like I was naive in thinking delete meant delete rather than hide from the user and retain for many years (how many?).  Were there any forum terms and conditions that explained what delete actually meant?

I don't know of any forum worth it's salt where delete means delete; it simply means removed from display. Why? Well for the site's own legal protection.

You ask about what terms and conditions allow this? See term 7.1 which I think covers it

Yes, for posts. It's by no means clear that applies to private messages too. But thanks for the clarification it does. Lesson learnt.

Well, I've now marked them all as not spam but it hasn't made any difference. They are still going into my spam folder. Even ones from the same people. 

I have two email addresses and my emails are rarely read on the one set up for incoming emails..they are automatically forwarded to my other email which I prefer to read them on.
