Cakeguts said:PN Pot noodles is one thing and noodles is another but have you got any toilet paper to deal with used pot noodles?Went to a rather posh dinner with band members and finished up talking to someone about visiting the tip when having a clear out. I only recently realised that this was one of my I expect many innapropriate conversations because I can never think of what to say to people. How do they spend hours talking about nothing?
There won't be a shortage, now the stockpilers have filled their boots and things are being tightened up. As a "household of one" it's times like these one could have little wins "1-4 per customer" is plenty of anything the shops are selling....6 -

Workwise, although working from home is possible, there are parts of her week where it is currently absolutely impossible to not be physically present in a room with many strangers, in a building of strangers.
In all honesty ... she's obsessed with when to jack in her job and how much her pension is worth. I think she should do it about now... but that'd just free her up to go out socialising everyday in all sorts of outdoor activities.
I think, one way or another, she might not ever collect that pension!
I'm sure, because, as we all know, we're all immortal, she'll be fine and live. If there's a brightside ... a demise would double my own house budget.... unless the beggar's left it to some daft dog charity!

You have my black and white thinking or should that be the other way round. I am 62 and only just found all of this out. You also have my logical sense of humour that is lacking at the moment because my Aspie brain won't work because it is depressed and anxious and looking back has been since Christmas.I also saw all this coming about 4 or 5 weeks ago. I knew when the Thurnburg family decided to have a mass meeting in Bristol. That seems to be the autism brain we can work things out because of the black and white thinking processes. I often have blindingly obvious moments that no one else gets.6 -

She'll be forced to. From the groups I'm in, the RFU have cancelled all rugby to mid-April, from community upwards and England Netball have cancelled all training too.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I got an email this morning from our estate asking if we'd be prepared to complete on our house sale next week. I said I would like a week between exchange and completion. After today, I'd be prepared to go the day after next. I hope to God that no one in our chain is in the leisure/arts industry and that they're all still keen.It will make our lives much more secure. Everything we own is invested in our half built new house behind this one. There is no slack.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

On another thread we were discussing how to stay sane on self-isolation. I suggested a few sites worth exploring.

Maybe some NPs can add to this?My dentist, the one who just had Corona, has cancelled my forthcoming appointment on the basis that I am 'abroad', albeit in a country that is doing a much better job of controlling the virus than the UK.
In the hotel here, I was coming down the stairs when someone else was coming up. It’s not a grand hotel, so he couldn’t keep the requisite two meters apart. A look of panic came into his eyes. Was the poor chap going to retreat? Jump over the bannister, even? In the end, he leaned as far away from me as possible, and he went very red in the face as he held his breath. It’s sad, though. The chambermaid was laid off today, without pay, and with no indication when the hotel will reopen. It’s not entirely clear that the trains to the airport are still running. I think they are, but the hotel swear they are not, whilst at the same time offering to arrange a taxi.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?8 -

I must be a bit on the spectrum too - I did a calculation based on the govt CV model report and came up with a big number and have been told off for posting it. Apparently we can't handle the truth.I think....7
