I'd be questioning the bigger picture: in 1-2 years' time will there be a job in any case.... bearing in mind age too ... it might be time to plan an early retirement, or retraining/change of career. Not opening a bar in Spain though!6 -
Sue So sorry you have such a worry
I think they said on BBC News that the govt would be addressing this situation in today's briefing so perhaps things will be clearer later. You might be entitled to Universal Credit x
GDB Safe journey home x
Doozergirl Fingers crossed for your sale going ahead as planned x7 -

The very thing I have been actively avoiding...We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.6 -
I think one has to balance out benefits -v- a burial plot.
I'd rather be on UC, which is a fixed/safe from germs income ... than try to continue as "normal" when now, today, since yesterday, the world is no longer normal.
Old thinkings are out of the window.
For survival... UC offers the best bet.
And remember... there are some of us out here who'd love to be able to get some UC.... but my savings (house money) exclude me.6 -
I was wrong, no people smuggling
I've worked it out....

tbh, given the current CV situation I would probably jump at the opportunity to be people smuggled into China
Categuts many apologies if anything I have said has added to your anxiety. I suffer from health anxiety too but luckily have been able to manage it without resorting to medication. I use a sound generation app (sleepa) to play wind and rain sounds all night which I find really helps with getting to and staying asleep.I think....7 -
Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes. The buses are running, but almost empty. The trains are running. The train takes 20 mins to the airport, and the train station is almost deserted. Easyjet is still running flights. If necessary, one of our sons will pick us up at the airport, but still hoping just to take National Express, which will stop a mile from our home.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?6

Find your inner niceness! 🙂🌺
Cakeguts, don’t read this.......
I won’t put as much detail into this as I was going to, because it sounds a bit feeble compared with what other people are worrying about on here.
Been to the hospital.... state of total anxiety. Not the procedures; they were quick and a doddle, but being in close proximity to people!
Had purposely worn clothes and a coat that I could strip off and bung in the washing machine as soon as I got home.
Could have downed a jug of vodka when I was finished scrubbing, but don’t have any...probably just as well.
Anyway, calming down a bit now. Just got to wait 7 days....................(I just lurve spiders!)
