Bless your DH, Jazee. That was very kind. Please tell him thanks for doing that - he's making a real difference for that lady. He's an example how we could help others in difficult times. Bravo!

We had all our kids football cancelled because last night on the news it was suggested that the govt was stopping all large gatherings and the club panicked and cancelled everything, then it turned out that the govt was only thinking about banning gatherings and it all seems a bit silly.  Netball carried on - at the end they didn't shake hands even though they did point out they had all being touching the same ball for the last hour....

Went to see a TV programme filming the other day and were turned away due to a last-minute decision to reduce audience sizes due to coronavirus.
Unless your tickets are priority ones, better contact them well before or turn up really early (probably an hour or more).

Interesting announcement about possibly confining the over-70s to barracks.

Although I’m not over 70. 
I was a bit surprised they didn’t include vulnerable groups in that.
Strange.

Today is day 14 of my own lockdown. I’m getting increasingly worried about going to the hospital for my procedure appointment on Tuesday.

I can also clean our house which is another job that needs doing. A really good spring clean. It needs it.

I will also have time to think about what I have found out about myself in the last two months. It has taken a trapped nerve to find out that I am very likely to be on the autistic spectrum with what used to be called Asperger Syndrome.  I was going to get an official diagnosis soon by something tells me that it will have to wait a bit longer. There is no rush it has only taken 62 years for me to find out.

There are loads of people around with Asperger. Always have been. It’s being recognised more now, that’s all. 

It’s interesting what Einstein said about himself. He was no cleverer than other scientists, he said, but he just kept nagging away at problems for longer. Google choose to employ people with AS, and so on.

 I can’t prove it, but I suspect that people with AS are attracted to forums. So, there’s a higher proportion here.

It’s a great way to have social contact without having social contact, iyswim.
The contact is on one’s own terms...who with and for how long.
No need for eye contact or any degree of physical contact.
Can take your time forming a post without worrying about blurting things out.

Who would have thunk it?

I stayed quiet earlier, I have processing/response issues and usually just avoid answering many posts as I don't know how to. 

I'm an Aspie   That's my speshulness.  It's.... not nice.

Would it help to have an Asperger’s Thread in the Health section? For speshuls to share experiences without worrying about how their posts are coming across? 

Or would that be a nightmare?

I know you said you get a lot from going to your speshul group, as you could just relax, knowing that people would understand, so a dedicated thread on MSE might be useful, perhaps?
