The concert I was going to at the O2 next month as part of my birthday celebrations has been postponed. I'm actually quietly relieved to be honest. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.6 -

Some people have had to cancel their weddings in Italy.
That might happen here too.
Plus, I’m just waiting for the announcement about the Olympics. I can’t really see that happening this year, to be honest.(I just lurve spiders!)

I didn't mention it, but we were due to fly to Washington DC this morning. Two days ago we received emails from the Capitol Building and Pentagon cancelling our tour bookings, but having checked the small print with our insurers last night decided to go anyway to visit The Smithsonian museums. Five minutes before we were due to leave for the airport checked the website and all museums were closing from tomorrow. We decided not to go and take a small hit on the cost of the hotel (flights not an issue). Really pleased we did as in his rather erratic press conference just now, Trump decided he might ban flights from the UK after all. Could have ended up stuck there, with nothing open, staring at the hotel walls and watching CNN. Phew! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Our niece has just announced that she’s getting married at the end of May, in NYC. Our chances of attending now seem remote. Anyway, we can decide nearer the time.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?7

I didn't pay for them, it was part of my 50th birthday gift from eldest son, his partner and middle son but as I said, I am relieved that I don't have to stress about it/come up with a reason to pull out as I was getting very concerned about risking it.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. Comprehensive and official advice for anyone who needs to self-isolate:
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I guess soon we will reach the point where there are quite a lot of people who have had the virus who will want to carry on as usual...except with the testing policy they won't be certain.I think....5

The UK holiday industry will be hit, it's just not sunk in yet.
If you rent out a hotel room, holiday flat, a caravan, a lodge, who is going to come? Are you going to do a deep clean between each one? If you don't, who will come?
Where will they go? Many usual places to visit/see etc will be closed, or restricted.
Many will just figure "might as well stay at home and have a big holiday next year".
Camping's a possible ... you're self contained. But who will trust those shared washing facilities, shared shower blocks and loos? And, again, what's there to do if places are closed/restricted. Might as well stay at home.... and go out locally where you've fewer fears.
Some will always go, but many providers teeter on the edge of affordability needing full bookings. Many holiday caravans that are privately owned rent them out just for 8 weeks of the year to pay their substantial (£5-7k) annual site fees, for example.
Next year might be a bargain year for those looking to buy a 2nd hand holiday caravan on a site like Haven and other big names.
They might be pretty cheap in these present circumstances.(I just lurve spiders!)
