EasyJet will charge for changing the flight, I guess. I heard a rumour that all new arrivals will have to be isolated for 14 days, regardless of where they came from. Clearly, if true, that’s not compatible with having a tourist industry.
Edit - The BBC confirms that. From Thursday, ALL arrivals will have to self isolate for 14 days. So, presumably flights in will be cancelled, and that means no flights out either.Clearly, the government here has not fully taken into account that I only brought two pairs of shorts and one bottle of sunscreen.
Due to the ridiculous situation where airlines lose their slots if they don't fly the planes, they could well carry on flying, even if empty.
There must be some plan for some flights to continue as people will need to return to Israel if they are abroad.
I hope to God our descendants don't question us on this. When they realise we used to charge more for water than petrol they'll think we're cretins. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker8 -

Do you mean water rates, or bottled water?

In the shops at garages, they often charge £2 a litre for designer water, as Zag says. Mind you, they charge £3 for two slices of stale bread and a curled up slice of cheese. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?6

Zag my husband still works for an airline, in an operations team. They are working really hard on these issues every day. The situation is dynamic though and they are constantly having to react to the latest advice. The EU needs to stop offering platitudes and immediately drop the 80% rule. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I dropped by our GP surgery yesterday to leave a prescription request, and was astonished to find the only mention of coronavirus in the Reception area were 2 small slightly dog-eared posters telling you what to do if you've recently been in the Wuhan area, and even those were by the door and are only noticed when you're on your way out.
So I looked at their website. Not a mention of it on there either!
They do have a notice on the outside of the door telling you that if you need an on-the-day appointment you have to arrange an e-consult to begin with, or if you don't have a computer you can ring them and a receptionist will complete the e-consult form over the phone. Obviously I do have a computer, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with theirs - i can't request prescriptions online as it involves my having to download something my computer doesn't want to download6 -

Looks like the EU has taken action on this now to relax their rules as a temporary measure. Some airlines had continued to operate near-empty flights in order to protect their rights to take-off and landing slots. Under EU "use it or lose it" rules they were required to run services on busy routes or forfeit them to other operators.
Quoted from https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-51818492However, European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen has announced that airlines will be allowed to keep their slots even if they are not flying routes.
"This is a temporary measure, and this temporary measure helps both our industry, but it also helps our environment," she said.
"It will relieve the pressure on the aviation industry and in particular, on smaller airline companies. But it will also decrease emissions by avoiding so-called ghost flights."

I have a kosher question for any Jewish Nice People on here.
With all the popularity of vegan food at the moment, I started wondering if things like quorn, tofu, mycoprotein and seitan are kosher. I dare say it also depends on whether you are orthodox or reformed, or does it?
Also things like Kefir milk and Kefir water, and other fermented foods like kimchi etc. Are they kosher?
Don’t know why I started wondering that! Perhaps because I’ve been upping my intake of fresh herbs and things like root turmeric, fresh ginger and black garlic. I also tried burdock root for the first time, too. So, have been thinking about ‘strange’ foods.(I just lurve spiders!)
