PasturesNew said:GDB2222 said:https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/east-asia/coronavirus-new-study-finds-incubation-period-of-up-to-24-daysI am thinking about what preparations we can reasonably make. Particularly, low cost options, like laying in stocks of items we use anyway and which have a long shelf life.
The way it's stacked it looks like: everybody will get it, some will die... lessons will be learned.
I don't think one can avoid it if it turns out to be as widespread as your post indicates. With those odds everybody will get it, some won't know, some will know and will live, some will die.
My small attempts to avoid it seem daft... but it's early days and the thing is: nobody knows really .... what it is, how it moves, how long it lasts, how many are carriers.
Edited to partially delete......
I’ve decided to go out as little as possible, and to have as little contact with people as possible.
Mind you, given the weather forecasts at the moment, I probably wouldn't have Gone out anyway!

I wonder how Lydia is too; when we all moved over here I had to clear a load of previously deleted pms and one was from her. I hope she's all right. Thinking of you Lydia, in case you're reading but not able to post x4

PasturesNew said:I joked above about "avoid Waitrose", just spotted all the newly arrived Waitrose goods in the kitchen here... from The Wanderer's home delivery. Makes you think, eh.
Going out for a kettle in 10 minutes... just made a coffee, washed hands of course...
Far from the madding crowd!
One reason why I like it! 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄(I just lurve spiders!)

Then I went to an out of date food warehouse I knew was around the area. Didn't expect to buy anything there, but waddled out laden with drinks, some posh pot noodles, bags of banana popcorn/puffs or something, 24 bags of crisps (Walkers sriracha) which I'd not seen before.
Got home and couldn't bring in my stuff as The Wanderer's returned and is present, but a kettle is in the car for when I can bring it in unseen.
Used a wipe after I'd been to the warehouse, wiped hands, car handle, steering wheel, gear stick(I just lurve spiders!)

You really really need to find somewhere else to live until you find the right home to buy, PN5

I know there will be an end to it. Many others are cash strapped, stuck, in worse situations, unable to make choices.
I just need to vent as I'm "alone", with nobody else/nowhere else to vent

One good thing that's come from all this is it's close to some venues for the local special people voluntary group. I finally went to a drop in they run. Been 3x now, that's going to be a regular, it's every 2 weeks. I also went out one evening to a get together of special people. And, this afternoon, there's another social/volunteer group I'll check out. It's been an eye opener meeting people "just like me" for the first time ever. I can be as odd as I like and ... it's all perfectly normal
Such a relief to be able to go out and relax/not come away feeling "I c0cked that up, they all hate me, I'll never return"...
I think, for the first time ever, I actually "look forward to" going. I've spent my life dreading going anywhere as it's usually ended in disappointment/sadness as I didn't fit in. Now I fit7
