When I heard the person had gone to hospital in an uber, it suddenly dawned on me I hadn't realised they must have had their license renewed for London; I'd known there was a question they might not be allowed to stay thought they'd had to leave town.
As for transport systems, got to praise the London system. Trams, underground, rail and the buses, all free for us pensioners. Boris bikes, don't know yet if they're useful. Train services from outside the city boundary, not quite there yet. Spending a lot of my time exploring this city of about 400 "villages".There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker6 -
I've found the London transport system is great....if you are able bodied. If you have a wheelchair, it becomes a frustrating and nightmare experience with some pain added in.
We use Uber to cover the shortcomings of the London transport system....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.5 -
Hahahaha! I have just earned a name-dropper badge!
This place is crazy!
Could I swop my name-dropper badge for being able to view the Forum in portrait mode?

@Pyxis, who knew?!I've noticed you doing that. It's very sweet and probably better than quoting long posts or trying to delete most of a long post! Did the old forum help you find the name based on what you start typing?I'm starting to get used to it here. ☺️Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I keep seeing adverts flash by for Ola, is that the new uber?

However, phew!, I have done my stocking-up!
I decided I had to get it done before Dennis the Meteorological Menace strikes, so I left home at 07:30, to miss traffic and people, got to W. 15mins before they opened, but got a premium parking spot close to the door, did all my stocking up, got home, unpacked, and have now flopped, with a cuppa and a custard tart and it’s still only 09:50- ish!
However, I kept telling myself, “Don’t touch your face, don’t touch your face!” and despite hair-tickling and eye-tickling, I resisted until I had foamed my hands! It was quite a feat!
Ok, now, just to let you know, at great risk of a super-macro posh alert from Pastures,,
Waitrose have a new wide range of flavoured stuffed olives.

I hadn’t been in W. for a while, so it was interesting! I stocked up with various, because they are VERY GOOD FOR YOU, and the use-by date was long.
And now have 1 year and 2 months worth of loo-rolls,, and 6 months worth of my green tea with lemon teabags.
(In my defence, Pastures, I don’t drink milk, and don’t like black tea as it gives me a headache!)

Big cough from The Wanderer alert... OMG.
Just heard it. It's a biggun.
First I've heard.... is this the start?
Will edit/update throughout the day as absolutely nothing happens.
EDIT 1: Well, nothing's happened... except The Wanderer left the building.
EDIT 2: Been out/back, The Wanderer's in the kitchen.... COUGHING! Quite a bit. Oh dear...
