Bah toilet rolls, I go for the year supply of tea bags!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.5 -

I suppose I had better look at upping my supply of toilet roll especially when youngest comes home as more than once we had the situation of the person taking the last roll out of the packet not letting anyone know and being down to the last couple of sheets.....maybe I should start putting toilet roll on my birthday and Christmas list now too, got enough tea bags to last me through until at least next June (as in June 2021!)We made it! Hmm. I quickly walked down to my very local shops about an hour ago. Not too peopley.
Even so, and thinking about everything I did there, while one can make sensible precautions, there is only so much that is practicable to do.
I mean, using my anti-viral foam after touching obvious things like shop door handles, road crossing buttons, shop basket handles is one thing. However, every item on the shop’s shelves has been touched by ? numbers of people, plus the cashier, and then by me. It’s totally impractical to wash every packet of food, and even then, after touching it in the shop, you have touched your nectar card (and ditto the cashier), money, handbag again, shopping bag....................
If you went by car, there’s the car door handles, the boot lid, the parking ticket machine .............as well as all the other stuff previously mentioned.
My renewed passport came today. That and other post has been handled by loads of people.
It would be easy to get totally paranoid.
So I decided that one can only take reasonable precautions. So I continued to use the anti-viral foam after leaving each shop, (and noticed that my local diddy Boots had run out of it), and washing my hands when I got home, but not to think about handbags and the fact that I had to use my inhaler when I was out, and about letters and post and parcels, etc. etc.
Otherwise, there madness lies.
Besides which, there have been other pandemics in the past, but because they were in the days before so much social media etc., (only the TV news bulletins), people just got on with it.
So, yes, I will restrict my movements/contact with people where I can, but not to the point of sealing myself into a bubble, asthma or no asthma.
I have another anecdote, but will save that for two weeks time.😁(I just lurve spiders!)

Latest one, in London, thought she had it, so ordered an Uber and walked into the public A&E at a Hospital. The Uber driver doesn't think he was close/long enough to catch it (can't afford to not earn money) ....
So there you go. You can only do so much.
In my neck of the woods, The Wanderer has gone out wandering again. Day six since touchdown, out every day. Out less, true, but still out every day.
I've never thought The Wanderer "had it", I'm just annoyed at the slack attitude towards it. In earshot for an hour earlier today I didn't hear a single cough or sniffle or anything suspicious at all. Not got it ... but that's not the point.

In contrast to Pastures’ selfish Wanderer, my two-weeks time anecdote concerned someone who had organised a limited event for two weeks time........won’t go into details for anonymity’s sake........... but is due to go on a holiday to a far-eastern country (not China). This person made enquiries, found that there were no cases of coronavirus in the area they were due to go to, and also enquired of their doctor if it would be okay to continue with the (very small) event on their return, and was given the go-ahead on all accounts. However, they were still considerate enough to email everyone signed up to the ‘event’ to put them in the picture.
That’s what I call considerate.

I need to get out more. When I heard the person had gone to hospital in an uber, it suddenly dawned on me I hadn't realised they must have had their license renewed for London; I'd known there was a question they might not be allowed to stay thought they'd had to leave town. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker5
