I imagine they would have thought that this was quite fine when it was new. We are so used to living in a world of design dominated by grey and white now that we can't imagine how awesome this might have looked at the time! No doubt they thought it fine at the time. As I think I've alluded to before, this sort of decor was for some , highly suggestive of comfort and luxury and if you were of a generation who grew in in often pretty grim surroundings , it was perhaps an over compensation of that as "luxury" fitted carpets etc became more affordable , though a style , particularly the now passed fad for carpets in bathrooms, which hasn't aged well in contemporary times, while other styles have eg we often admire some 1960s 70s houses on here.a_fierce_bad_rabbit said:
