I know you're scared Melly but hopefully soon you wont be. The sheer relief when you're free is a wonderful feeling so look forward to the time you feel that way too.
I should have mentioned any outstanding debts will be yours if they're in your name. Your ohs if they're in his any joint ones you'll only be responable for 50%. I know a munber of people who had them written off with the help of the support agencies. Things have come a long way since I was living with an abuser.
Let us know how your phone call goes tomorrow.

Melly, you are staying because of the animals - but what would happen to them if your OH really hurts you -or worse?    What would happen to them then?
The Dogs Trust has a scheme for fostering dogs for people fleeing from domestic abuse.
It's called the Freedom Project https://www.dogstrust.org.uk/.../hope.../freedom-project   and it's not just dogs - they help with cats as well.  Please look at them - its imperative that you remove yourself from the situation now.

I understand about the animals - but you must all get out as soon as you can.   And talk to The Dog Trust - or message them on the link I gave you.   Message Womens Aid or whoever it was who phoned - they can always send the police around if you are in serious danger and afraid for yours and the animals lives.   We are all worried for you, Melly.

Did that mean you weren't able to answer the call? I don't know if you've left the house while isolating maybe to a nearby shop.
The reason I advised making an excuse to go out this morning is you need to explain the situation without being overheard.
As thorsoak said message whoever called if you were unable to respond today to explain the situation and your urgent need to get out to a place of safety.
If you're still able to send emails etc without him checking. Email more than one DA charity for advice.
I checked Dogs Trust again earlier and still nothing re fostering near you. In fact they are overwhelmed and are appealing for voluteers to foster.
I did a google search pet fostering birminham. There are lot of animal rescues etc in the area. You'd need to trawl through as some will be like the RSPCA who to my knowledge will rescue or rehome however I've never known them foster. They aren't a charity I support as they only hold rescues for a limited time and if not rehomed PTS.
Some may be looking for people to rehomebut maybe one or two will be able to sort temporary foster care.
I'd have suggested pdsa as they normally do temporary fostering but they're overwhelmed at the moment.

You're probably exhausted but you need to try every possible way to find shelter for both yourself and the kids.
