Went with mum to the district nurse appointment yesterday. Two more appointments booked in (hoping we might go down to one a week) and changed the type of dressing again. The wound isn't healing as quickly as the nurse would like, last week she switched to tubi grib to help the swelling around mum's ankle. This time she used a different dressing, covered with a pad, tube sock, thick bandage (might have been thin cotton wool - was felty and stuck to itself) then two thin bandages on top - in lovely herringbone pattern.Went back to mum's with her, cleaner had arrived before we left, grand-daughter arrived with the new tv shortly after we got back. She set it all up, I put the batteries in the remote and held on to the dog (she has long claws and if she jumps on mum, she breaks the skin). We told them about the two babies we had seen at the infirmary (a very smiley little girl, able to sit on her mum's arm but not yet walking and a tiny baby boy - he was more than bag of sugar size but only a bag of flour or smallest bag of potatoes size) and we were updated on the pregnant relative (now in second trimester, over the kidney infections and the all day sickness) and various family members virus status. They were both on school pick up duty so went in the same car.My brother had been due to visit (he had a later hospital appointment than ours) but his daughter was sick so couldn't take him and he could go anytime (potential bad news but waiting for more information). In the evening mother of twins came on her own. She normally drops DD1 off at brownies then comes with DD2 until it's time to collect her. 3yo twins are usually in bed. However last week they had the two older girls' bedroom plastered and then painted it. The girls are having a bedroom 'makeover' for their birthdays instead of toys - the eldest will be going to high school after the summer break so has requested a proper desk. The carpet man had a vacant slot so they had spent all day clearing the room and DD2 had put her pjs on and taken herself to bed. They are all putting the new bunk beds together at weekend.Watched tv for a while then went to bed (mum to sleep, me to read). Got ready this morning, packed my stuff, went back to wash my hair, had an early lunch, hairdresser came (my hair no longer goes in my eyes), taxi to film club (Brief Encounter). Couldn't get through to usual firm for the return journey (it was bucketing down by this stage), second choice had nothing for an hour and a half.Waited for the rain to slacken and walked to our regular taxi place - if mum had to wait she would be warm and dry. Girl said it would be 40minutes. I said that was fine and went to get mum a bottle of milk and a toast loaf (had originally planned to walk to morries in the early morning but the rain put me off). Returned to the taxi office and mum's taxi was waiting (think Friday is 'rent' day and girl had persuaded one of the drivers 'paying in' to take mum home. Came home and although this evenings film sounded interesting (Icelandic/Ukranian comedy drama in 4 languages) I opted to stay home - I was trying to persuade myself I should make more of an effort to socialise - so put the film money in the penny challenge tin.Today I am grateful for lovely hair (I am starting to get more grey, just a light frosting to add to my 'badger' bits, my 'pixie' pointy bits are going grey too), for baked potatoes and film club..My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9

I am honestly not sure how I've managed to survive February. It's been a very up and down month but I'm still hanging on. Thanks for running an excellent challenge f0xh0les - it's helped me to focus on the days where my real life hasn't mowed me down. Not giving up

Oh dear, I am in limbo. The money is not in my account because although it is the last day of the month, it is only the 29th. So it might go in tomorrow, or it might go in on Monday (grrr emoji). £25 excess this month left in the budget (jumping nutter emoji) It is chucking it down and dark over here. Might disappear into a book instead.Lost 6lbs this month, and I am not looking to find them again either.See you in March!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Happy Leap Year Day, fellow turtles
Have been to the gym with DH this morning (owwwww……) and popped into both Sainz and Tesc0 on the way home. Cannot see that we will need any shopping tomorrow, but no doubt some pesky greenthouse member will scupper my plans with their demands!
Ending the month with my CC bills fully paid. DH will pay his in the next couple of days - he's a bit lastminute.c0m with it - grr. All school trips/ leaving things fully paid for, too and DS2's cashless catering account topped up.
Weather keeps switching between sunny (but windy and oh! so cold!) and dark, gloomy and rainy (with wind). Forecast is rain, rain and more rain with more flooding expected in the county (not here, though)
Dinner is YS stirfry with extra veg (some of which were also YS, some just need using up) with YS chicken and sweet chilli sauce (and noodles for DH - I'm trying to avoid too much bread & pasta products as the calorie content just isn't worth it most of the time)
Thankful for: not getting wet when out today, some YS bargains (inc some needed boxers for DS2), easy food later, hot wheatbags….
See you in MArchThank you f0xh0les for this month's challenge

Thank you for running the challenge f0xh0les and letting join half way through.Achieved my 8/8 NSDs. Set my budgets for March, taken everything I can think of into account my ending balance will be -£2.27 so will put a little less petrol in to stop going overdrawn. Would have been ok but DS cub camp in April has to be paid for in March so that’s the reason for it being so tight.
Planning how my personal challenges for March will fit into ‘March Merriment’.

It looks like a few people have struggled with February. It certainly feels like its been a struggle for me, but after doing the maths it hasn't gone to far awry. I only made it to 8 NSDs. Terrible! I must be more organised next month. Regarding the NST aims for Feb, here is a little summary:
- clothes - wardrobe and drawers sorted, and a lot gone via ebay.
- CD's - will look at these later. May end up getting rid of the majority
- dancing - well I've certainly been singing, and got my body moving in other ways
- dating: 2 dates with friends and 3 with the boyf. My V day flowers still look great
- Make up: Could have done better here but I have worn perfume most days
- Consumerism: Paid off over £1300 from my CC, and bought only two "things", a nail file and a book
- Spending triggers: Not prepping meals!
I'm feeling grateful for my home, my ability to cook and my brain
Thanks for running this Foxh0les. I'll sign up again for March

Thank you for Feb, f0xh0les!I somehow made it to 20 nsds! No new clothes were bought; just some ch shop jeans. I tried different radio stations, but I guess I'm not a big listener to music. Although I do love putting on a 15 min utube Cancan clip before work, to 'get stuff done' when I'm in a certain room. My body has been primped by getting it to the gym. I also think I managed to brush my hair every day! Go me, eh?!Today I am grateful for a good night's sleep, for people who write workout routines that I like, for dd willingly doing her maths hwk, for finding some ch shop shoes for her art project, for doing some budgie needlefelting, for being fit and well and exercising pretty much as normal just 6 weeks after my op, for missing most of the showers when out and about, for spotting clumps of daffs planted in a circle around a tree in the park.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7
