Hope everyone poorly feels better soon.
Nothing much to update, NSD spoilt by having to buy emergency birthday card for a colleague. Birthday is on Sunday 1st March, so under Marchs list but card & present needs to be given on Friday at work so will lose another NSD for the present tomorrow or Thursday 😕
Grateful for - Sunnyish day, realising petty cash owed me £15 so will be able to put another £10 to EF, pancakes for tea so no need for the daily ‘what’s for tea’ discussion!Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2606 -
Bagged another NSD as decided plain flour and baking powder was sufficient for pancakes and didn’t need to shop for SR after baking at the weekend and using it all.Grateful for:

Went in the bathroom yesterday to clean my CPAP mask, made up a small bowl of water with washing up liquid but used a cloth to wipe the mask so used the rag and the remaining water to clean the sink and toilet - got lots of black stuff from round the plughole. Then pushed a floor cloth around the floor with one foot, keeping most of my weight on the other leg and holding onto various fittings so I didn't slip.Had a shower this morning and then went back to wash my hair later. Took four books back to the library and one item for the charity bin (full to the brim) on my way to get a taxi. Have done a little bit of tidying in mum's garden (it was very cold) and put the bins out. It has rained and hailstoned and the clouds looked like snow clouds. Had serious talk with mum about snow. If it snows she is not to attempt to bring the bins back in. I got the salt out of the bottom of the cleaning cupboard and said if it snowed she could stand at the door and shake salt on it but not to go out unless she was absolutely certain there was zero chance of falling.Made some progress on some intricate embroidery whilst the light was good. Also phoned to get money refunded for a holiday which has been cancelled due to low numbers (we couldn't have gone because we will still be seeing the district nurses). Came home early.Today I am grateful for the sun shining, for making a start on several projects, for a clean bathroom (bath still has an orange ring - think DS3 is a golem - but I can't get in it atm so they can clean it. I have been spraying it whilst the shower water gets up to temperature). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7

Good evening turtles.
Tuesday check in, today and yesterday NSDs so 12/14. Making 14 will be tight. The "new" clothes task is working in the opposite direction- I'm looking at some unworn stuff in my wardrobe and realising I don't wear it because I don't really like it for one reason or another so the rag bag and charity shop bag have had a few extra additions and I'm still wearing my "usual" clothes. I guess I'm freeing up some space! I
Gratitudes- cosy hats (I have lots), DD being super helpful with household chores - a brownie challenge which seems to be linked to a badge but I'll take the help even if it given with an agenda! And being able to help out a friend who helps me out far more.

Hi Turtles,
I am one of your very regular readers. I joined in a couple of times but ended up finding it made me worry about not being up to standard but I read along with you all and find you all so inspiring.
Good luck with the last four days of Feb!WBF8 -

I don't think we have any standards, so don't worry about that x

mothernerd - I find the elderly and infirm do seem to have an overwhelming desire to go outside in the snow and ice, my dad used to shovel the driveway if it snowed, it nearly killed him and he didn't even need to go out.PurpleFairy - I always use plain flour for pancakes.f0xh0les - I'm with you on the pancake making thing. DD went to her boyfriends for tea last night but wouldn't agree to go until they had confirmed they would have pancakes. I made up a batch of batter just for DS and he was eating pancakes like a maniac and I was absolutely boiling.Still busy doing DS's room, we bought his flooring last night to go down at the weekend, today I am painting the walls and prepping the skirtings for painting tomorrow.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I bake pancakes every Wednesday lunch for dds and their friends. I put all ingredients and utensils/bowls/pans on the kitchen surface before I leave for work in the morning, and when I come back in around 12.30 I start mixing and baking. DDs lay the table, and I bake a whole pile of pancakes. Each child eats about 3, and then there are leftovers for next day's breakfast and/or snackboxes. DD1 had problems making friends, and this was a way to insure kids in her class invited themselves over; play after lunch usually went fine, and now she has quite a few friends. I now have to use the same ruse for DD2.
