Toni'sfriend take care of yourself, we will all be thinking of you. ccl many hugs. Sometimes we can't do everything, we have to spend money or make tough choices when we are time and money poor. I was supporting a friend on bookface last week. The heater on the snake's home (is that a vivarium) had failed and he had spent the day with the snake wrapped round him under his jumper, trying to get the poor thing's body temperature up, followed by a sleepless night and knowing that although the snake seemed better, it might still die from shock in the next few weeks. Then someone had asked him why he was so bothered - 'it was only a snake, not like it was a dog'. He said that all the living things in his home, whether they had skin, fur, scales, were part of his family.Quiet day for me. I've filled the dishwasher (still more to do) and made trips to the bins with various recyclables but even then I had to stop and hold onto the gatepost. Took a long while before I had my shower. I'm on NSD 12 (it may be more but it's at least that).Today I am grateful for books, for the pets I have known and although this month has not turned out as expected I am still making progress, slow and plodding but still inching forward. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9

Saturday- quick post, still on NSD 10/14- probably spent more than I should have as I went to the shop without a list-ooooops!
Had a sing-song/dance.
Gratitudes- DD changing and growing up but keeping her cheeky monkey personality, volunteer stuff going well, spending time with friends.

Sorry for your loss Toni'sfriend. So sad, even when expected. hugs.CCL - hope you slept better last night. It looks like we are in for even more awful weather from this evening onwards. Storms Ellen and Francis are on their way this week. That'll be fun then. Today will be NSD 12, I got tripped up yesterday on silly little bits dh kept adding to the shopping list. He is on strike for another 3 days this week. Which means he will be underfoot and messing up my meal planning.Do not forget St Pancake's day on Tuesday, look in your cupboards to see what toppings you have and try not to have to lose a NSD because of it. Be creative - peanut butter/chocolate spread / bisc0ff spread/ marshmallow fluff/ golden syrup/ bramble jam / whatever odds of frozen berries are in your freezer with the juice of one orange and 2 tablespoons icing sugar makes a beautiful compote/sauce, just heat. Or go wild and do savory pancakes. There is just under a week left to go of February, make it count. 7 more chances to get another NSD.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Sorry, haven't posted for a while. Hugs to anyone who needs one.
Think I'm now up to 9 NSDs, not doing so well on NSDs this month, things keep cropping up although usually just small spends. I'm grateful for getting back into going to the gym, roast chicken dinner planned for tonight, seeing my gran looking so well, OH finally finishing painting the kitchen and a warm cosy flat.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Afternoon everyone
Condolences to Tonisfriend, very sad news.
Hugs and sympathy to CCL, we have 2 cats and pets are a big part of our family, we love them. Hope tortie recovers and your vet's bill is part covered by insurance.
I had a NSD on Friday I think i'm on 7 now?? I will be guided by f0xh0les as to whether I can claim one for yesterday...… I bought myself a dress and jacket from a CS, a birthday card from a CS and some 'snazzy' trousers as requested by DD2 from another CS. The dress and jacket for me are for work as I want/need some smarter clothes for my job. I have bought about 10 things online from various retailers all of which I have sent back as don't fit or unflattering or bothSo I spent £14.48 on 2 things in the CS which were both from m$s and i'm really pleased with them. I had a lovely day yesterday as my friend text to say she was trawling the CSs and did I want to meet her. She treated me to lunch and we had a lovely afternoon. The town we visited is our fave for the quality of CSs and apparently there are 13 there - lucky for us
Today DD1 plus friend & I have met my parents for quick brunch as they were at the beginning of a 200+ miles journey back home. They treated us to tea and scones/teacakes and my dad slipped DD1 £20 each for her and DD2 which was kind. Then we went to 3 x supermarkets for supplies. Have stocked up on loo & kitchen rolls & hoping they will last till next payday - 20th. Glad to see tesc0 has the cats' food of choice on offer again. We are away next weekend so hoping I have enough food to last till then....
Keep warm everyone and hugs to those who need one
Deni xx

I have kept my NSD today the old fashioned way. I have just taken a break from cleaning the house for a cuppa and a catch up. Only half of the ground floor left to do. All hot water bottles have been rounded up and put back in their drawer. All cups and plates have been stolen back from kids bedrooms and need washing up. I have to bake a cake for the lunchboxes and ice it, and apart from that my day is my own. Will put as much washing on the line as I can while it is sunny, I found a little puddle on DS3s windowsill, I think the rain was just at the right angle with such force, it came through the window's frame. Will all get sorted when the roof eventually comes off. It has never happened before....I smell of bleach. bleugh.. bathrooms are clean though. Swings and roundabouts.....4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Very sorry to hear your sad news Toni'sFriend.Sorry to hear about your cat CCL.We have had a very full on weekend decorating DS's room and still have a long way to go yet. We chose some paint yesterday in B&Q but will be taking it back as it was £3 off in Wilko and was already £1 cheaper and they take Love2Shop vouchers which the kids had £15 worth of that they just couldn't seem to spend so I bought them off them essentially and used them towards paint and other bits we got in there. We dismantled the bed yesterday and lots of the components will be reused, we have already used the hardboard backing to make shelf liners for some slatted shelves we had in a built in cupboard and the 3 drawers from the chest of drawers have had little castors fitted onto them and are now being re used as roll out underbed storage in DD's room. We bought a curtain pole and tieback at Dunelm on Friday but are returning them as we have decided to do away with the curtains in DS's room and just have his blind, I think I will make him a new roman blind to replace his existing venetian one, we have an old house with quite decorative architrave around the windows and it just makes the room look so much bigger. Today I have cleaned all the walls and skirtings and primed them, DH has put the first coat of emulsion on and I have spent ages cleaning the inside of the window frame, all those little crevices that collect muck.Used a piece of foil from a chocolate bar to scrunch up and clean the metal spotlights in my sun room, they had tiny rust spots on but are now like new - you have no idea how smug I feel about that.Very busy day planned for me tomorrow, I may be able to draw breath on Tuesday.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
