facethemusic said:F0xh0les-can I borrow your charity shop fairy please? I would also have blown a NSD for a £40 bed frame!
No such bargains to be found around here so NSD 10/14-I am determined to get to 14, although the rabbits are unimpressed with the fresh veg part of the daily ration tonight and have asked nicely if I could please provide some fresh greens tomorrow so some spends will be required😂.
A body lotion tub is finally empty, it takes me forever to use them up as I never remember to put the stuff on. I have at least 2 open tubs before I start the full ones!
NSD 10. Need to spend tomorrow.... veg supplies now very limited!
Grateful for: not needing to go anywhere in the heavy rain this morning, DS2 being amenable to more sorting/ tidying in his room, more random food things from stores being used up

Hi everyone, enjoying reading your updates, here’s mine:
Clothes - Wore a pair of brown boots today, not worn in ages. Very comfy & made a nice change.
Music & Dance - nothing here today.
Dates - had my second with my friend & her DS. Budgeted £10 as only arranged to go for a walk and coffee & cake however due to weather went to a different cafe for lunch that have paint a pot for the kids ended up spending £28!! Had a lovely afternoon but will need to jiggle the pots! Went into HB only bought 1 thing (jif lemon 69p). Didn’t wander as I know I’d have spent a fortune especially having DS with me.
Self Care - Found I had a packet of disposable razors so started a new one today can’t remember the last time I changed it 😬
Wore ‘save for best’ perfume.
Debts/Budgets - just need to spend a bit of time checking this before payday next weekend.
paid another £2 off E-DF with zipzer0 app for receipts.
Logged a challenge to our council tax band, will have to wait a while to see if successful.
NSDs - not one today but did have a non spin dryer day!
Gratitudes - DS finally finishing all of his homework, my friend rearranging our afternoon, An easy tea.
Stay away - no not today but enjoyed.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£26010 -
Good evening!
Just creeping in before the day's end! Really struggled this week mood-wise - I don't know why? On the down side, my mindfulness has slipped into oblivion... Will try to reboot tomorrow... On the plus - I have managed the gym twice this week, even when I wanted to skip and go straight home.
Today = NSD number 12 <roll on payday!!!>
Today I am grateful for:
1) Laughs at work with clients
2) Coming home after a lonnnnnnng week
3) Texts from old friends and colleagues
Off to bed now. Dolly... What is this about Amazon? I must track down that Panorama episode somehow.

Had some of the curry I made (beef with lots of peppers, butterbeans and broccoli) - was lush. Whilst it was warming I set off a bedding and bathmats wash and went in the front room (pitch dark as DS3 was asleep) and collected the pizza box mountain - may be one or two left as I was doing it by touch.Have had a bath and washed my hair (more use ups, now using the shower gel and shampoo Beloved has abandoned, large bottles with only bits left in). Also used up 3 more tubes at mum's (by cutting them open and scraping round inside with my little finger). Now on the bed listening to the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack (and fan spinoffs). Not my favourite era and there are some ridiculous things and some which have been overused but generally a happy feel. Not up to dancing yet but some movement and some 'singing along' - was 'reading' about a 'tuneless choir' the other day - one has recently been set up in Oldham but I think it said there are 34 in the UK. Basically people who can't sing (at least in tune) but it doesn't matter because no-one else can sing either and they all get the endorphin rush from singing.Today I am grateful for all the different people in the world (I'm not a marvel Toni'sfriend, I 'm struggling to stay on my feet and everyone has some amazing stories to tell), for food banks whilst regretting they are needed (signed up to the Trussel Trust campaign newsletter - setting out what needs to change) and marvellous curry made using everything but the kitchen sink.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage12

f0xh0les - well done on the bed. I have been scouring the charity shops and ebay for a while now for a single bed frame for DS. He has the smallest room in the house and it is really small but when we bought the house I didn't intend to have any children never mind two and that room was my sewing room !!!!!! office. Anyway we needed a really slim frame with no extra chunkiness and with plenty of clearance for underbed storage, in the end we bought a new one which is being delivered on Monday - just the frame though so not too costly. We are having to be very creative about storage for his new room as he is getting rid of one of those massive high beds which have a built in wardrobe, desk and chest of drawers underneath. We will be spending this weekend on things for his room and over the next couple of weeks too but it is all saved for. Today I need to get fruit and veg, go out with DD but as yet I don't know where she wants to go, need to call at B&Q as well I think.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Take care of you, climb back on that horse!
mothernerd - GotG soundtrack is one of dh's happy tunes - it helps his mood too.I have noticed that unwanted Xmas presents have hit the charity shops, and the furniture c/s are heaving with bargains round by us. Don't forget you keep a nsd if you buy from the charity shop with this month's challenge. Go forage, like the advert says.I am going on a recreational trip to the tip (metal recycling department) and buying in lunchbox tat for the kids next week. Then, when I know my budget, I am going on a charity-shop-crawl of 9 shops - it will keep me out of the house for a bit and away from the kitchen - I am losing weight slowly, but slow progress is better than no progress.Hugs to all those ill with this ridiculous cough, or with tiredness, or anxiety, or with sick furry family members. The daffodils are out in the parks here. There are some snowdrop themed events going on around the country. It does not much feel like it, but the days are getting longer so Winter will soon be over.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I made soup last night with the last of the bendy veg and last of the cold cuts. It doesn't smell nice, but tastes allright (not really wonderful, but good enough). I've frozen the soup for next week. We're off to my parents' this weekend to drop off the girls for Spring Break, so the fridge needed to be empty of all perishable goods.Quietly discussing with myself if I will challenge myself to wearing skirts and dresses only all through the summer. I need to think about that a little bit more.... I have quite a few, but hardly ever wear them; I like seeing them on other women, but hardly wear them myself; why???? Not happy with my body? Maybe, but I'm 6' and weigh 72kg (11.3stone), the main problem is tights that are long enough and don't wrinkle around my ankles (usually, I have to buy a size 18 or 20 tights to get the length, but then they are too wide around the legs....). There is a real-life-me vs imaginary-me conflict going on here. I want to be the best me I can possible be, so why don't I actually take that step and BE? This is not a good example to my dds! (Apologies for the philosophysing/navelstaring/rambling.)Grateful for:- dds doing their own dressing up for carnival today- soup turning out okay- being able to pay bills as they come in.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5912

Siebrie - do you not know the tall girl tights trick? At the end of the foot of the tight, is a rolled seam you can cut straight across and it does not ladder, so your foot comes out the end, and you wear socks, you get an extra 7 inches of length to your tights, they do not fight to stay up, they do not ride up, and are fine with ankle boots. A million times more comfortable this way. Basically, home made footless tights. I had a friend who loved wearing tights but could not stand how warm her feet got in them, she told me about this trick and so I was able to wear 'normal' tights even when pregnant. Give it a go with an old pair. I am just 5' 5" so I can only stare with utter jealousy and admiration of your height. I was meant to be tall, someone just didn't get the memo.
