Did do some shopping today but yesterday was NSD. Stuck to list and went to 3 shops for best priced items. Entered it to YN AB. Very satisfying all round.Had a good tidy up this morning, moved 2 pieces of furniture I’d be threatening to do for a while. Given a room a new look for no cost and will let me start on another. Lots of rubbish in the recycling too.Wearing boots that I got repaired that I haven’t worn for 2 years (been broken for that long) but the bullet to pay for the repair but they have so much life left and is only just had them soled and healed before they broke. Plus they’re the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned.Grateful for:
comfy boots
food being under budget

Woke up this morning feeling really seedy. Nothing you can really put your finger on, just feeling not right. So it's been a very quiet day. Done absolutely nothing.
Siebrie - I'm the exact opposite. Five foot nothing. I don't even possess a skirt or a dress. I stopped wearing them years ago because I thought they made me look like a dumpling (think pictures of Queen Victoria. Round face, round body!) As for finding pretty shoes with my tiny, dumpy feet. I look at all these glamorous ladies in the summer with their beautiful flimsy dresses and think why can't I look like that? I think it's probably a lack of confidence and poor body image. Maybe we need to form a support group.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Purps, for your kids, have you seen this : https://choose-to-thrive.com/2011/01/make-your-own-girls-tights.html such a great idea for making tights actually work and you can custom fit so there is no more slippage.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Just renewed my WTC by phone and now want to lie in a darkened room surrounded by chocolate. It was really simple up to the point where I tried to submit the details on line. First it said I didn't have the option of renewing online and then it wanted my Government gateway ID. Trawled through old address book and code book, found my tax UTR and my experian proof of identity thing but not the code I needed. Phoned them and then waited in line to be connected (after getting through the maze of 'how to direct your call' questions including did the form have a red line across the middle - it had a red line but it's at the top under the contact details separating it from the form details. Some confusion over why I have received it now (deadline 23rd - Monday) as normally renew in July. Not on Universal Credit (living in dread of being switched over to that - it's frankly not fit for purpose and has forced people into dependence on foodbanks and in many cases being made homeless). Then we snagged on my working hours - form still shows them at 30 but as an over 60 I can reduce to 16 hours (plus the 35+ caring for mum) which I did (requested first and then told them - in big block capitals in the empty white box where you put any info that doesn't fit in their little boxes). Luckily I had written down details of last year's lengthy phone call which referenced the previous year's lengthy phone call after I had informed them of mistakes (theirs) which were still repeated on replacement forms. So I might owe them some money but they can't fine me because I have details of notifying them of the changes 2 years ago.Bed is now awash with papers as I tried to find any stray bits of random information.Have eaten my stew, had a shower, put the duvet cover over the front room radiator and filled a bin bag and tied up a small bag overflowing with rubbish, filled a 2l bottle with tap water and turned off the CH (and kitchen lights).Today I am grateful for eatng a frog, for lovely stew and curry for later and books (going to retreat into one and hide from all the RL stuff until I feel like coming out of hibernation)My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9

Still on NSD - bought GP bedding and food at petshop and then loads of veggies (inc some for gpig), toilet rolls (cheap ones for the boys' bathroom, as DS2 uses loads....) & milk & yogurt. Used some YS marinaded chicken from the freezer bought 6 months ago for dinner with LOTS of veg - still some chicken left for tomorrow, too
Grateful for: noticing some buds on the lilac bush in the garden - Spring is thinking of making an appearance!, the floods in the county receding (drove out for a walk today - river level crazy high still, with many fields under several feet of water - the floods in some areas in the county are enough to fully submerge a car), lots of bulbs coming up where we went for a walk (that public area has a 'Friends of....' who tend it and clearly do a very good job, some of the wonderful old places we have in our city to have a wander around, getting a (good sized) frog finally eaten!

, for enthralling books, for a plan for tomorrow.

Hmm went nto work, but it just made me feel really unwell and I'd forgotten my lunch so went home early and 'worked' a bit at home. Students back on Monday so will have to do a few bits this weekend.
Just reminded me how daft my work set up is and how much I want to walk to work!
Grateful for a quiet weekend ahead and will keep a sharp eye on 'productivity' (had my couch day yesterday).Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

NSD 10. Need to spend tomorrow.... veg supplies now very limited!
So still on NSD 10/14.
Started on the next part used run of body lotion, almost at the end of a hand cream.
Gratitudes- time at work to catch up on some paperwork, being cosy indoors while the wind rages outside, some decluttering actually happening.

Siebrie - I'm 5'9" and I know exactly what you mean with the tights, I've never come across f0xh0les tip but will try it for sure with some old tights. When I used to wear thin tights I used to buy from a brand called Silkies, they sent me some pairs for free originally to try and review (this was back in the day when I had to review on a form and post it back to them). It worked on a sort of subscription service and they did tights which were super long in the leg without being bigger in size.f0xh0les - well done on the weight loss, keep plugging away at it, it gets easier when the weather warms up don't you find?mothernerd - anything to do with government form filling is definitely a frog.I had an old pillow which despite being washed and tumble dried wouldn't go back into shape, I was going to stash it in the loft for some unknown purpose but the loft has enough stuff in there so I thought I would send it to the charity shop for rag but then had a lightbulb moment (for me) and slit the cover upon took out the stuffing and used it to re-stuff some cushion inners, one of them was a feather one but it has still worked well. The pillow cover has been cut up into rags - feeling rather pleased with myself.MIL gave DH a cheque this week from an account she opened when DD was a baby, she never opened one for DS (she does like to play favourites) and there was no way we would just give the money to DD so we told the kids about it and that we would split it between them, it was quite a lot of money each and has gone into their savings accounts.Went to get f&v yesterday and the chap said to me it is like going back in time when I shop there as I don't use any bags, not even tha paper ones he provides, we had a nice chat about supporting local business and lots of other things and then when it was time to pay his card machine wouldn't work and he said 'oh just pay me next week', this is what I love about shopping local you build up relationships with people that you don't get when you are anonymous. I had cash so I did actually pay him.DH is taking DD off to work for the day and then when he has had his breakfast we are dismantling DS's bed and starting on his room makeover, we need to call at B&Q to look at paint and drop my car off for its MOT. Yesterday we spent money on a new drill, plug sockets, fixings and undercoat but we had money for this set aside.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Ah, that's fab that you have that with your local shop, dolly! (the local Chinese has let us do the same...… sounds like we go there a lot, but we really don't - they've been there for around 25+ years (mostly same staff) and one of their staff & I have loads of friends in common - probably because (I found out at Xmas) she lives around the corner. Has more of a sense of community, rather than the nameless/ faceless-ness of smkts
We'd like to do-over DS2's bedroom (same age as your DS) - storage in there is an issue as it's relatively small and he still has SO much stuff!! He doesn't want to change it yet......
