How did it go @Scottishgal19 ?
Hi we viewed the house last night. It is a nice house but didn’t feel it was right for us. I’m struggling at the moment with its location as it was a few miles outside our 5 mile radius from kids school but I thought we should go look at it.

In that dilemma should we wait longer for a house in the right location or go for the right house in the wrong location?

When we buy it will be our home for a long time just don’t want to make the wrong choice but wondering if I’m being unrealistic.
IMHO, location is the key. You can change the house. You can't change the location.

We learned that after viewing the one outside our location. The house we viewed on Friday is in the right location closer to schools etc with very little compromises for us.  Did you find a house in the right location or are you still looking?

Simonbk- hope the chain moves quickly and your not waiting too long.

Is the property a new listing? Did EA say there were a a lot of other viewings booked?
Had no update today. The wait continues...
  • They had a couple of viewings at the weekend. It is a new listing. The EA called today and asked if we could go closer to the asking but we went in with our maximum so can’t go any higher. They will let us know tomorrow. They already have a property to move to and as we are ftb And can move quickly hoping this will go in our favour.

It has been a long few days

We had people bid higher than us but as we were ftb the vendor went with us as we can move quickly and have no chain. Hopefully things go your way. Have my fingers crossed for you.
  • Thank you. Good to hear how others are getting on with buying been a great help.
You will be looking forward to getting moving date.
  • We didn’t get the house. They received a higher offer today that they are accepting. Back to the house hunting

Estate agent never came back to me regarding the chain. They are really grating on me at the moment. 3 times now they have said they would call back and have not. The EA dealing with my purchase is off today as well.
  • Fingers crossed you hear something today. Let me know you get on.
