Beware Of M &s Online Shopping

I too got an email to say one of my items was out of stock, and when I checked the item was a free necklace which came when you spend a certain amount in jewellery. I wouldn't have spent that much if it hadn't been for the free item - how annoying!!. Surely the system shouldn't let you order out of stock items!0

It's definitely an imperfect system when it comes to stock updates. I place items on my wishlist until I get over the £30 free delivery limit (or if I get a voucher from them as an &More credit card holder) and the frequency of them being in and out of stock makes me suspect the inventory behind it is not at all accurate, especially reading the accounts others have posted about easily finding items in store.
That said, I've encountered only minor problems shopping online with M&S. The main one was the stupid decision to pack the some pasta bowls underneath heavier items on one of my orders which obviouly led to them being broken during transit."Who throws a shoe, honestly?"

Soooooooo annoying:mad:. I have never had a response to my letter (but then I no longer expect one:rolleyes:.) M&S stock system would appear not to be "live" - it's pot luck really. I hope you are not waiting for stuff you need for christmas?:o0

Marks and Spencers online is the worst shopping experience there is from any of the big companies. They are a total mess. You spend ages ordering stuff which have 24 hour dispatch. Then the dispatch instantly changes to 6 weeks dispatch when you check your order. That was my second order.
My first order: half the stuff didn't arrive. In stock stuff suddenly became out stock. Weeks later they refunded all my money. My original order just disappeared of their website. All without any communication. My order was just changed to a partial order. Received e-mail saying order was about to be dispatched. Never received anything. My order then completely disappeared and is still not showing when I look at my previous orders. All with no communication. I emailed them and got a cut and paste back which just ignored the issues, 'items can go out of stock....'
I kept the items I got sent and I haven't paid for them. I thought they would sort their problems out and tried a second order - detailed above.
I have now given up on them. They are a disaster. An amateurish mess in every aspect. Surely, who ever is in charge of the online business should be sacked? That is assuming there is someone in charge which I am not so sure.0 -
Thing is, I like their stuff and would order lots more! So it's a real pity as I'm fast losing confidence in the online ordering.
Guess I'll stick to buying in-store but I don't have much joy there either - rails and rails of the items I want and rarely one in my size! Which is why I tried buying online in the first place. Ho hum.0 -
Very disappointing - they assured me my voucher would still be applied but I've been charged the full amount of my remaining items today and it hasn't.
On checking through my first order I've noticed the discount wasn't given there either, and that order didn't have any cancelled items (but was delivered in dribs and drabs and I was charged the full amount each time).
Two orders, two disappearing £10 discounts, and I still need to shop for a pair of boots. Guess whose online service I won't be using again?0 -
Hi all,
They are carp - and I still havn't had a reply to my letter...... oh and then keep sending me e mails encouaging me to buy, buy, buy.."Calling last orders - free delivery" Was the latest - I think you've had our last orders0 -
It seems that M&S need to sort out their systems. I recently placed an order online and was hit by most of the problems previously mentioned in this thread.
- Item out of stock however when they refunded that item they removed two discounts so I ended paying more than when the out of stock item was included.
- Order was sent in two deliveries but they only applied the free delivery to the first one and charged me for the second one.
I spent so long sending emails and phoning them that I wished I had never bothered in the first place.0 -
i received an order on friday from them, i wasn't in when they came, normally delievery people deliver next door, but oh no not m&s, they threw the box over the back wall into my back yard! luckily it wasn't fragile and the yard gate was locked. fuming is not the word0
-
Oh yes I never mentioned the delivery part - they leave mine outside the front door but pick up the plastic doormat thingy and put it OVER the top! Sad to say but in this day and age nobody should be leaving things of value outside the front of the house, even if they "think" they are disguised!0
