Beware Of M &s Online Shopping

nBelieve it or not I have been crying:eek: - with total frustration. On the 19th Nov I spent hours doing a large amount of my christmas shopping online at
M & S. 17 items total £153 (including £10 discount on order and free postage :money:This is MSE afterall).I received one item a few days later. Waited in for 10 DAYS - order never arrived. E mailed them this morning and they said they had STOCK ISSUES and couldn't meet the order and cancelled the lot. GUTTED. I thought I'd done the bulk of my shopping and now I havn't and I'm REALLLLLLLLLLLLLy disappointed and guess waht they offered me as compensation. £15 off my next order - THEY WISH - why would I order from them again.

Hi I am sorry to read you have been let down like this. I have placed several online orders with M&S this year and i can honestly say they have been great and would order again from them. I do think though that a customer ought to be informed if there is a problem and asking do you still want to go ahead with the order. I hope you are able to do the rest of your shopping elsewhere and that you feel better very soon xxDo a little kindness every day.;)0

:santa2: Sorry Setmefree.....m and S are sooo naughty to do this to you now !!! Could you not try and do some shopping at John Lewis instead???? They have free del atm plus there is a code around for twenty pounds off 100 spend...;)
My mum has also had troubles with m and s.....they charged her card 3 times on one order and ensured her they had not when the bank was saying otherwise.
She found cs useless and their attitude was accusational. They really need to sort themselves out and take a lesson in providing decent customer service.
Good Luck and try not to go to pieces over it......Take a deep breath ......and take your custom elsewhere.....you still have plenty of time....at least it is not the week b4 Chrimbo as you have been good and organised!!!:xmassmile0 -

Hi Setmefree2. I have had problems with M & S aswell recently. I ordered a dressing gown for my mum as part of her christmas pressent, they took the money out of my account after a few days. Two weeks later it still hadnt arrived so like you i sent them and email only to be told that it was out of stock and had been since August!!!!! Why did they let me order it and take the money for it if they hadn't had it in in months!!!!:mad:
I went into a local M&S and there was the out of stock dressing gown! so i bought it from there. Fortunatly though I did recieve my money back quite promptly0 -

had the same problems with M & S then they sent two identical orders and charged me for both I then had to arrange to take one back to my local M & S which was a right pain as it was a big box and heavy then they had to refund each item separately I had to pin in my chip and pin number 10 times, not my favourite shop anymore I am afraidFrugal challenge 2025

I have also had probs with M and S online. They have a habit of either cancelling orders without telling the customer, or putting the order on hold because one item is out of stock and then by the time you chase it up all the other items are out of stock too. they do not seem to have a 'live' stock system, so it is pot luck if your items are in stock or not. What is even more frustrating, is that their CS have NEVER responded to any emails I have sent them (and I have never been offered any compensation either!).0

Another one here who won't be using M&S online again - ordered things in the sale in September - originally had items missing, thought it had all been sorted and I'm still getting emails telling me things are now in stock and on their way when they aren't ( have even then had one email saying last email was a mistake, please ignore, then the account has been charged ) - mistakes galore on that one order going on months later! Not sure if it's just the computer side of things going haywire ( have to say customer services have been very pleasant when I have phoned but it's a lot of phone calls which I am paying for! )Also not a good refund system when you return to store - as patentgirl says every single item has to be done individually as a single transaction. I'm just going to shop in store from now on.0

Seriously, it's just awful - I did 2 orders on the same day. One with 17 items (mainly from their xmas catologue) and they have only delivered one item out of 17. Total value of order £153. Then I did a second order for school trousers and vests later in day (can't get vests in store and anyway I couldn't leave the house cos I was waiting for the first order:rolleyes:.) They have delivered trousers but not vests - so they failed on half of the 2nd order also. HAVE THEY GOT ANY STOCK:mad:. I also did a big order with Boots and it all arived quickly and delightfully.:jI've sent a letter to the complaints department at M&S. If they can't meet an order in Nov what chance have they got in Dec....their web site says it's all in stock so you wouldn't know either...you could be waiting thinking you've got xmas all "wrapped up". Obviously spent all their money onTwiggy:eek:0

I ordered from them yesterday - the 1st thing that annoyed me was that they were down on the paypal offers site as taking paypal - which they don't!!!!
I hope my order will be ok .
