Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! yes the headache is gone and I'm feeling quite proud coz I've got beef stew on the SC at the moment and just made yellow split pea and bacon soup in the pressure cooker (PC?) ahaha

Also I turned in 6 mobiles last week to mopay.co.uk and just got a cheque today for £61!!!! Didn't think my old mobiles were worth anything but was very happily surprised. I've never recycled old mobiles before and was worried they'd be dodgy and I've never hear from the company again (like trying to get cash back from phones4u! ahahhah) but to my pleasant surprise I got a windfall afterall!:j

Just to let you all know, I've just started a blog a week or so ago. If anyone's interested: http://sty1eyourhome.blogspot.com/

POLYANNA - the reason its called hump day is if you think of a bell curve on a graph the top of the bell is the 'hump' and since Wednesday is the middle of the week, that is why it is referred to as hump day. Hope this makes sense, otherwise just consider it another one of those strange sayings from those eccentric Americans! :p

Aussie.....Have you tangled yourself in that dishcloth yarn again? :D
Pink....I've cheered up now. It's safe to switch your phone on again. :rotfl:

Well I've been in rotten form for a few days and didn't like to post.:o It's just been a combination of health worries but things are moving forward and in a month or so I should be clearer about my long term prognosis. Not sure I want to know really as I have a tendency to think that ignorance is bliss. ;)
Dtwin1 was sent home from school on Monday with vomiting and when I picked Dtwin2 up that afternoon and went shopping she threw up in the Co-op. So I've had 2 poorly girls as well. They're on the mend now but still a bit lethargic.
I've also spent the last 2 days doing the business accounts at the kitchen table. Very hard to concentrate so it's 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Tea tonight is pasta with a 5 cheese sauce I made from the dregs of the cheese drawer. I must do some ironing later too and I want to make a start on the christmas cards. I bought the stuff to make them ages ago but still haven't got round to it. :o

    That's all folks!! :D

    Afternoon all

Happy birthday Miss Ruby - not sure my DD will be as disciplined tomorrow to not open her pressies.

Beef stew in the sc smelling lovely - will have some herby dumplings with it.

Been feeling a bit "used and abused" buy everyone over the past few days so had a good stamp of the foot and a few tears last night - always makes me feel better and taking some time out for me today - watched 2 films whilst wrapping pressies and just about to make another huge pot of tea and take it back to the telly before the school run.

Looking for some inspiration for a table centre piece for christmas, got lots of craft stuff and fancy making some sort of fabric/stuffed garland affair - if anyone's got any ideas..........

As for HM christmas cards - I'm not bothering this year, not one person remarked on them last year so I won't waste my time (sorry - scrooge moment!!)

Hope you all have a lovely afternoon and hugs to the poorly ones.

    Afternoon gang.

    Happy birthday MissRedruby
    Happy anniversary FunkyFairies

Poor HariboTwins, did they give you a mop in the Co-Op Haribo?

Yucky weather here, and my boiler is playing up...well there is a drippy leak in the pipes somewhere, and if I have the heating on, I have to keep topping up the water in the system. Not too much of a problem, but as I have to outside and then down the side of the house to access the boiler...it's a pain, especially at 6am when I want hot water and I'm tripping outside in my dressing gown and trainers.

Miss Twit has phoned me, not feeling 100%, so can I go and collect her early, hope it's not this bug that's going around, I'm not too good at mopping up sick _pale_

Think I might do a pasta and sauce for tea, I've got some Danish Salami in the fridge along with some cooked sausages that need eating up.

Welcome to the new ones and the unmasked lurkers. :T

Hugs to the poorlies and the stressed ones amongst us.

Nels I just knew you would rise to that one .I too thought of the stuff you set alight with the coffee bean in it.I think it may not cure my nose which is begining to resemble Rudolph's but my goodness a few of those and I would be past caring about owt:rotfl: :rotfl: I haven't had any of those for years.it used to be very popular back in the 1970s
Powerful stuff that one brought back from foreign parts, and tried out when the drinks cabinet was running low.:D :D
My DD got some Boots decongestant tablets at lunch time, and I'm just waiting for those to kick in.because of my medication cocktails I have to phone the oncologist first to see what | can take.Apparently the Boots tablets are O.K.
Cheers folks for all the good wishes
