Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 27th November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all!
Thought I would take the opoortunity for the first (and probably last) time in the history of ever to start the Daily
Am technically breaking the rules, as I haven't been to bed yet. Have just got back from my nightshift - wasn't too bad, really slow and boring though.
Plans today, after a little sleep - have a lovely breakfast, cooked by OH (he has bought muffins, bacon and yoghurt
). I lurve him. Then I will probably put the rubbish/recycling out and clean the kitchen/bathroom.
So, until later...adieu

Hello
Feeling very very tired. Done two days of double shifts, and was woken at 1am this morning by my sister having a crisis with her boiler breaking. So I'm on about 4/5 hours sleep. I've got to stay at hers to cat-sit and I have no heating or method of cooking, so I'm really looking forward to cold baths, washing my hair in the cold and living off pizzas for a week - great. Can't believe she's still gone on holiday despite her radiators oozing green gunge
I've not got a day off until next weekend, so I've no chance of a rest.
My bingo membership came through yesterday along with a couple of lovely samples from pantene (money off coupon too). Also received my nectar vouchers for more points - too bad I hardly use the card!
Got to take sis' cats to the vets later and get some bits from Mr T.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Morning Blairweech
I'm off to work in a while, it's really busy, as usual this time of year. I had a problem with some toner & the whole room was covered in fine black dust & everyone was coughing when they came into the room, I did have the extract fan on, but it's so small I might as well not have bothered.
I really need to get some listings done for Amazon, so will need to throw the lodger of the PC tonight.
Corned beef Hash tonight, hubby's not sure but willing to give it a try.
I did my shopping list yesterday & it comes to £247 but that will last us for months, I did my last big shop in August & still have some stuff left.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Morning all
Good luck at work High Peak Lass, maybe it wont be as bad as you think - isn't there any chance to change your job to something you would enjoy more ?
Hester, £247 for shopping  in the bad old days that would have been 2 weeks shopping for me, but now I t hink I would have to buy everything in Aldi to spend that much
Work today, so sausage casserole in the slow cooker and jacket potatoes for dinner.
Hugs :grouphug: to anyone who needs one xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Hi charlies_mum
I am looking for a new job and have been for a while.
It's a case of the old 'got the quals but not the experience'

Off for my train
Good Luck to all today.xxx

Morning Chums, dreadful night last night ,very little sleep, I have the mother and father of all colds and my nose and eyes are running like the Thames . Low immunity means I get it a bit stronger than most at the moment .
Still I have done all my Christmas shopping for presents, and they are all wrapped and ready.I feel quite chuffed in a way as I have 6 birthdays before Christmas as well and they too are sorted..Today if I stay awake long enough I am going to do my cards. First year ever that I have been this organised.Oh well back to the hot lemon barley water .<<Hugs to those in need>> and a somewhat drippy smile to the rest of you.:D0 -

Goooood morning! Another day at w***, then it's the weekend. DH has a couple of days off, so we're going shopping tomorrow, then some house jobs on Friday.
We finally got our pay rise in this month's paypacket. It was back-dated to April, so a nice surprise just before Christmas :T :j I drove out to my rural advice session yesterday (70mile round trip) and none of the people who'd made appointments turned up   They'd declined to leave contact numbers when they made the appointments, so there was no way that I could check if they were coming. Luckily, I'd arranged to meet a friend for coffee and cake, so it wasn't a completely wasted journey.
Anniebooklover - great news on the saving. We've been cutting down on *frivolous spending* (this year I've hardly bought any clothes, and only 1 item new). It's amazing how quickly the savings mount up :T My only problem is trying to buy gifts for people for Christmas and Birthdays. I feel obliged, know they will expect something, but can't see the point. They have everything they need, so this seems utterly pointlessI'm trying to buy food and drink or goats :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: My mother is having condoms this year  :T from Oxfam :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Scuzz - hope you can wrap up warmly
Happy Birthday to Miss Ruby :bdaycake:
Chilli for tea, then the Small Pengins are off to Scouts - DD is camping with the Explorers in North Yorkshire over this coming weekend
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Good morning everyone.
CHARLIE'SMUM - snap - I'm just about to put my SC on with a sausage casserole in it!
BLAIRWEECH - congratulations to your DH on his new job. Good luck to him.
SCUZZ - friends of mine have to cat-sit now and again but they take the cat back to their house - he soon got used to it and treats it like a second home now; would it be possible for you to do that? At least you would be with your home comforts. My DS2 and his GF have a new kitten and, when the time comes to cat-sit for them, I shall bring him home with me.
Well, DH has just left, I have the BM on, everything prepped to put the sausage casserole on, stale bread soaking to make bread pudding and the WM on. Feel quite industrious for so early in the morning. I am so much more organised when DH is up and out early. I have a small pile of ironing to do and a quick tidy up then I have DH's business paperwork to sort out, my own work and some more Christmas wrapping. Sainsbury's had half-price toys yesterday so I bought a few more things. There wasn't much choice because everyone else had the same idea but I'm quite pleased with what I got for the money.
My DGS came for dinner last night. He is the school council's representative for his year and he and all the other reps from the school are going for a team-building day today at St Mary's football stadium (Southampton Saints' home ground) followed by a trip to the Mayor's offices, so he's really looking forward to that.
Well, DH's new contract - touch wood - looks as if it will last right up to Christmas and, hopefully, beyond that. It's great to have something regular; it really gets me down when he doesn't have enough work on - I find it hard to get anything done when he's at home and the money coming in in fits and starts doesn't help, either, so this is a real breath of fresh air and I intend to make the most of it!
Well, I'd better go and have my shower, whiz through my chores and get down to some paperwork.
PINK - hope Adam is recovering well and enjoying school.
TAPLADY - how is your DS? Hope he's getting over the shock of the accident.
AMIE - I forget you take everything literally! I had to catch two rabbits to make the jelly and they weren't just wild - they were livid!
Hope everyone has a great day. (((Hugs))) to the poorly ones and to JACKIE0, QUEENIE and DANNAHAZ (wherever you are) and SMOKY'S OH.
See you later.

Just edited to say Happy Birthday to your DD, REDRUBY.
More (((hugs))) to JACKIEO - hope your cold clears up quickly.

Sadly not. We have a dog and he LOVES chasing cats. They can't go in a cattery either as they're waiting to have their booster injections.Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0
