  • Just a quick hello this morning.

Jackie0 - wrap up tight and look after yourself til you've riden that cold out, poor soul.

DS1 is home from work today. I heard him throwing up in loo and he looks very sorry for himself. I personally think this is caused by stress because he was crying again last night. He only has another 2 weeks working at the college before he leaves and I can't wait. One of the women has returned after literally months off due to nerves and 3 more tutors handed their notices in, one construction tutors saying that he wanted to staple all his students to the scaffolding, the little *$*%! ( too rude to repeat).

Anyway, he is calm now and enjoying supervising (bossing!) over DS2's school work (home-eded) so I can have a break and pop to supermarket with my mum.

    Have a lovely day all.

ps, Taplady - glad DS is okay after yesterday and good news about the new car, too :)

  • Taplady, - He starts working with his dad after xmas. DH lost his work partner and his boss agreed that DS1 could be taken on and trained up. We just have to get him through the next two weeks and then he's free of the college. He's a lucky lad really to get this opportunity. :)

TAPLADY - what a lovely boss! That's brilliant news. I hope he finds a car soon.

CRAZY - you will soon get used to your new oven then you'll wonder how you managed without it! Hope your TD problem is resolved soon - you need it in this damp weather.

FUNKY - hello to you and (((hugs))) to your DS.

JENNIO - Welcome - it's much more fun being on here than lurking. We love newcomers. Hope headache goes away soon.

CHEERFULNESS - (((hugs))) to your DS - there are such a lot of bugs and viruses going around at the moment. I don't think anyone has escaped completely.

THRIFTMONSTER - hope the virus starts getting better soon. The only consolation for anyone who is ill right now is that you should all be better for Christmas.

PAM - I hope you can sort out a way of getting DD back home from school. I really believe that the UK should have the school bus service that they have in France and the States. A free bus that picks your child up and brings them back almost to the doorstep. Besides being a lot safer and more reliable, it would save all the congestion on the roads; if the powers that be really believed in global-warming, they would do it.

Well, SC is on with the sausage casserole, BM has just finished, the washing is upstairs on the airer - no point even trying to hang it outside. It's so damp, gloomy and cold here. All my chores are done bar the ironing, which I will do in a minute while I watch last night's Strictly - Takes Two. Then I shall do my paperwork. I can't go out yet because we are waiting for a cheque,so I need to wait for the post - which is getting later and later these days. If it doesn't come today, I'll just walk up to the local shops to get the paper and hope it comes tomorrow.

Anyway, off to do the ironing - oh, how I love that job!

    See you all later.

    Morning all

I'm having one of those days where there's a distinct lack of motivation. It's cold outside, although it's not raining, but it feels like a snuggle under the duvet day.

DD2's asthma is really bad again, so we need an appointment with the doctor as her chest is very raspy at the minute.

I need to go and get milk and squash shortly, and then it will just be a quick tidy round today. Farmfoods are selling young's cape hake fillets with a zesty lemon and herb glaze - 2 in a box for £1 and it's buy one get one free. So I will be having that for tea with jacket spuds, and the girls are having HM cottage pie, which has already been cooked and frozen.

Good luck at work today High Peak Lass

Hope you feel better soon JackieO, FunkyFairy's DS, thriftmonster's DH, and anyone else I haven't mentioned.

Happy Birthday _party_ Miss Ruby _party_

That's what I want to do, but been told I can't leave the cats alone. And yet, they're alone when sis and BIL are at work:confused: I'm at work all day, so what difference does it make? They're house cats so don't go out
