Stefejb - if you eat bread & butter with jam after eating kippers it stops them repeating on you. (I always have strawberry jam - assume any jam will do).

    Hello! Only me! :hello:

Managed to get on here a little earlier than in previous days. Just shows how much work I'm doing really! Teehee.

Haven't done anything OS today, might do when I get in from work later. We are only having omelettes for dinner tonight, so didn't take any preparing beforehand.

Breakfast and lunch was Special K as I am on a diet. :o

I have a load of leftover boiled potatoes from yesterday though. Not sure what to do with them, as I am out tomorrow, and it is pizza on Friday. Will they last till Saturday when I can fry them up to have them with a roast chicken? Or can I freeze them?

Trying slowly to get more OS. My big challenge for January (as I have already bought most of my groceries for December) is to stop buying so many ready made sauces. I buy 8 Dolmio Stir-Ins a month and they come to about £10! I must start making my own.

Found a thread on here about average wages and realise that I am above average ("great," people might say, "why is she on here bragging about it?"), but it just scares me, cos I am trying for a baby and will find it hard to get that kind of income when I go back to work and the mortgage is high, blah blah blah. Anyway, that's just me stressing over something which is ages away. Always a worrier me! (PS. I am not on mega bucks, just more than I probably should be in my particular role).

Scuzz - seems a little silly that they are out all day and expect you to be there, but I'm guessing they want the cat to have company in the evening? I just let my cat get on with what she wants to do, but then she ain't a house cat, and when we have snuck home during the day, we find that she is [STRIKE]teasing[/STRIKE] playing with the dog!

JennieO - Welcome, I'm quite new to the old dailies as well, we can be newbies together. Hope you get well soon. And just out of interest, what has hump got to do middle? Am I missing something here?

Taplady - great news for your son. Good bosses eh? Hard to find!

Hester - I've suggested corned beef hash to my lot before, they always give me a funny face, but I will get around to trying it one day. They don't seem to like new things, so I just stick with the same old boring things. I am trying something new on Sat, a recipe which I found on here, some kind of Greek bake.

    Just a quickie from me.

    Happy Anniversary Funky-Fairies:beer:

    Happy Birthday DDRedruby!

Pipkin I seem to have lost all motivation and enthusiasm lately, but today I think it's come for a visit:T So I've made the most of it and the kitchen and bathroom have been thoroughly scrubbed. ( And to my shame, boy did they need it:o ) So if you wait patiently yours might come back too:D

JackieO, lovely to read your post, but sorry you've got the cold. Wrap up well and take care (((hugs))

Well my coffee is drained, so I'd best harness up this motivation before it deserts me again;)

    Enjoy your days'

What they do not know will not hurt them - hint, hint!;)

It is ridiculous to expect to stay over when you are cold and have no hot water. They wuld not do it for you!

    Happy Birthday Teenage ruby :bdaycake:

Have just made two kilner jars of elderberry syrup but forgot how badly elderberry juice stains stuff:eek:

DDs laptop that she ordered from play.com has arrived so she should be pleased tonight when she gets back from work.

Hints have been dropped as to making sweet potato soup so will make that later this afternoon

DD(13) very pleased as we ordered ten presents for Christmas for her friends on the net instead of trecking round the shops. Total of £25 with free postage which works out at £2.50 a present and RRP for the presents was from £6 to £8 each.

Then, after finishing the order she realised she had missed out three other friends  so may have to get something when I go to the Boots Christmas evening.

Hugs to everyone with the "virus" that is going round, we have been taking homemade elderberry tincture which seems to help but tastes disgusting so might have to start mixing it with honey or something.
