I also know someone with more money than sense who paid one, despite me offering to help.

Only one, my son has paid three.  He says  it is less than a bottle of vodka at a London club.

What happens if I just ignore it, will the court simply find in their favour and I'll have to pay the £240 or whatever it is?

I've had a look at Keypulses thread and he put a huge amount of work into defending himself. I simply don't have that time now or the skill, or indeed the evidence. I don't have any photos as the parking space is over a hundred miles away, and even if I visited this weekend the signage could well be different as I originally parked there in Feb of 2019. Even if I took the photos I wouldn't know what I'd be defending against. It is hopeless

But you are just copying his example - it's so easy.

After all this effort you can't copy his WS and supplementary WS and costs schedule and adapt to suit?

This is really simple, we are not asking you to spend days on this, it is just a statement of what happened, plus a list of your costs, plus a copy & paste supplementary WS - along with the usual evidence exhibits, like pics of the signs, and the same case law that keypulse used.

Everyone does it and he copied from others.  He didn't write it from scratch.  Should take you one evening, half a day, whenever you decide to do it you will realise how easy it is to adapt.   It seems to me that you are being blinded by what you see as complicated wording - that isn't complicated at all, it's template stuff written by us, for people like you.

When you read it closer, you will see what it all means and how it ties together.

What happens if I just ignore it, will the court simply find in their favour and I'll have to pay the £240 or whatever it is?
You will very likely get pursued for unreasonableness as well, which can add another hundred if they send a rep and you don't bother.  People who stop at this stage might pay over £300.  Surely a WS and some copying are worth £300 for half a day of your time and some printing?

I don't have any photos as the parking space is over a hundred miles away,
But Google Streetview does, and the little arrow turns back the time and images!

This is one of the pictures they have - I was parked right next to a sign so can I claim 'inadequate signage'? (although I didn't think it was applicable at the time - not that I even noticed it - as we were entitled to be in the car park)

Other than the booking form for the B&B we stayed at I have no evidence. I don't even have any solid evidence that I purchased a parking permit. One of their photos shows a scrap of paper on the dashboard but no writing can be made out. Yes I can grab a Google street view image which shows their 'private car park' sign but that's about it.

I expect that unreadable sign says 'authorised' or 'permitted' cars only?
Well then you are saying in your WS, quite reasonably:
I didn't think it was applicable at the time - not that I even noticed it - as we were entitled to be in the car park
You would also be observing that the minuscule writing on the sign was not seen because there were no lines on the road to suggest that this was not a place for visitors (were you a visitor?) to park.  No double yellow lines, nothing to draw anyone's attention to any parking charges or terms that applied to that unmarked area at a place where you had authority from...who?   Can you throw in some evidence of that?

Your position is as strong as most posters and we see wins 99% of the time.

What evidence have you got, or can you get (an emailed witness statement from someonewho lives there?) that you were permitted to park there, remind us, as your thread is so long.

No, you have your ws. Thats evidence. You point out that theyve even photographeds it, and why didnt they take a closer photo to show that it WASNT a permit? Suspicious?>

I have a copy of the receipt from the B&B we stayed at the night before. They have access to the car park I used and were happy for us to be there, although they did ring shortly after midday and asked us to move. Sadly it was a bit late by then.
