Will catch up later but just wanted to say that January is now biting back. I'm literally shaking all of the money pots to see what comes out. Bought uni son a nice gift, will give him more later! Have to drive 2x2 hours on Saturday to bring him back to uni, so thats an other £30. I need a bit of food and then I'll get more money next Friday. SO rattling along, am making B'day diner from freezer tonight, and pancakes Friday morning - on the day. I have lots of staples just need to top up on meat and vege, as freezer is close to empty.
Also got a call from old colleague who wants me to teach one day a week near me, that would be so great. Only problem is the up to 7 week wait to get paid. But then that will be worth it though.
Have a lovely day.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Good afternoon all,
Nice to read everyones news.
Clf, I hope the tree moving goes well!
Hk, sorry to hear that you've felt unsettled since xmas, I'm no good without routine!
Today I have/will
:grinheart Quick, easy, cheap and healthy porridge for the kids breakfasts done
:grinheart 2 gym classes to make the most of my membership done
- refilled water bottle done
- showered and dried hair making the most of the gyms hot water/elec! done
- applied make up etc that I owned but rarely used done
:grinheart Ran the dishwasher on the quick wash and emptied done
:grinheart Checked banking /updated spreadsheet done
:grinheart Sort through emails as I had a couple to reply to about the kids tech we're selling done, and I'm impressed with cex actually, as they've regraded the games console "up" in price as it had a bigger hard drive then I thought. So the boys will get an extra bit of money each back on the sale
:grinheart Drained the chicken stock, will make risotto tomorrow using this I think done
:grinheart Maybe make leek and potato soup to use the chicken juices (and make dh smile!) cooking now and it smells devine!
:grinheart If I make soup then dh will have that tonight followed by the end of the fruit crumble, the kids aren't so keen on this soup so they can finish the beef stew and dumpling (and crumble of course!)
:grinheart Put washing away from the heated airer, iron only what I can't get away with just hanging away done
:grinheart Apply an amzn gift card to my acc from a survey site that's paid out done
also
:grinheart :grinheart Made an omelette using up various bits from the fridge, this can either be for the boys breakfast with some beans in the morning or I'll have it with my dad later in the day
:grinheart :grinheart Made a start on the packed lunches for tomorrow, I've sorted the kids ones but dh isn't sure if he can wfh or not yet, so I don't want to make sandwiches if I don't need too (as if he wfh he'd choose something warm instead)
That's enough to be starting with. Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Agree about routine, 1LL & HK. I'm the same. I absolutely love a change.......but only for about a week. After that, I feel things starting to get away from me & it is always good to get back to being in control. I sound like a control freak.....I'm really not, I'm quite laid back on the whole, but I think with things like budgeting & healthy eating, I just don't want to be sucked back down old ways of thinking. I'm feeling more on top of things already.

Glad things are looking up DNMS
Not achieved much today, or it doesn't feel like it
But I have:
Had more home dried fruit for breakfast. One more helping and I can wash and put away the jar. Not that it has been a hardship to eat it, just trying to rationalise the larder a bit!
Went to the market in a neighbouring town, got lovely bargainous carrots, potatoes and bread. Bought a couple of books in a CS.
Took with me a bag of stuff to donate to said CS - 5 small glass bowls, a ceramic bowl, an enamel roaster thing and a net curtain, so making progress with the decluttering
Sorted out the broad bean plants in the garden. They were covered with fleece, and not liking it very much. Some of the leaves had gone black and slimy and others were being eaten by something. Killed one caterpillar, and now they are uncovered, the birds will hopefully devour any others and the air will circulate more freely. Hope for the best, anyway. I never have much luck with overwintering broad beans.
Walked the dog
All food from home, more of the turkey and veg soup I made yesterday for lunch, dinner will be salad with HM coleslaw, jacket potatoes and some slices of cold meat from the freezer.
OH sorted out the lights under the wall cabinets in the kitchen, which I was a bit dubious about, but all seems to be working and ok.
Might make some lemon curd after dinner, as I seem to have lots of lemons and eggs...0 -
Hello
Apologies for the absence - I am shattered this week - getting back into work mainly. It's always a bit of a shock but leaving the house in the pitch black in the morning. I've been going to bed early then waking up loads during the night so not feeling rested the next day.
Court was pretty much as I expected. Another small, very expensive step forward. Ex is getting a 'final warning' to come to the next appointment. I'm still not hopeful that will be it but I really hope the judges are starting to understand why it's been so difficult to sort out and why I'm in court. So the next and hopefully final hearing will be over the next couple of months.
Other than that, this week has been about surviving work and getting back into routines as foxgloves mentioned. My dieting is going well, so I'm making the most of that. Finances are tough but I will manage. Kids and cats are amazing. There isn't anything small or large to report because I'm literally working and sleeping tis week. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning folks
My arms are so stiff and sore today! Back and legs a bit too. OH did a lot more than me and we were both tuckered out. Got back from the allotment just after 2 and both of us were flopped on the couch for the rest of the day! Up to bed at 9.20 and slept through til about 8!
Today is also my first day at my anxiety group therapy. It should have been last week but I was at mum's. I hope something shifts soon because it's making me feel like crud and spoiling all my fun. I've never had so many physical symptoms and they can def do one. I'm hyper-aware of the physical stuff because I've been ill.
Lots to do today though:
:heartpuls B/D from stores - done
:heartpuls L from local deli shop - done
:heartpuls OH to drop me off at workshop on way to his mum's - done
:heartpuls Clean the fridge as it's horrid - done
:heartpuls Chop and freeze some kale that has been lurking in the fridge for far too long. - done
:heartpuls Get train to mil's after workshop to save OH petrol and tunnel fees (giving away my location a bit there!) - done
:heartpuls Pay car tax
:heartpuls Poss work on scrapbook
Have a good one all

Good afternoon all,
I'm feeling fed up today, I finally had the appointment to get my tooth extracted (been 11 months) and a) the referral wasn't for the tooth I though it was for (you know, the one I've been having problems with, which included that particularly awful infection last October that needed two courses of antibiotics and b) the tooth that had been referred for.. the dentist today said she wouldn't advise having it extracted after she took another xray  but she does agree that the tooth I thought I was having out definitely needs to be taken out!!   So they've discharged me and I have to go back to my normal dentist and ask them to refer me for the one I've had problems with. Rant over..
So onto todays list
:grinheart 2 gym classes, hot shower, dried hair and filled water bottle etc as usual
:grinheart I was able to eat the omelette I'd made yesterday as I'd not had any treatment!
:grinheart Checked banking, updated spreadsheet
:grinheart dh is working from home so saved on fuel/time
:grinheart Cleaned kitchen using stardrops & washable cloths
:grinheart All meals will be from stores
That's it from me. Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
