Afternoon all
CLF, hope the group therapy helps
1LL, I would be furious too, what a joke  And how long will you have to wait this time? I must confess, I pay for private dental care. I realise I am lucky to be able to do this - having said that, it is either that or no dental care round here, as what NHS treatment there is, is reserved for children and people on certain benefits, if they are lucky. It is what they vote for round here, so fair play, I suppose!
Anyway, I was up till silly o'clock this morning as I couldn't get off to sleep so got up, made a cup of chamomile tea and read for a while, so a bit shattered today, but keeping the faith:
Finished off home dried fruit for breakfast, and washed up the jar
Housework, with OH's help :A Still a bit to do, but I am going to make a cake first, as we are supposed to be having visitors this weekend Made a sponge cake, which I intend to fill with lemon curd (which I also made) and cream. Also a batch of flapjacks from Hugh F-W's leftovers book, which I had forgotten about at the back of the shelfHope these visitors turn up and eat loads of it, as OH and I are supposed to be reducing our waistlines  Used up a couple of lemons from before Christmas, some unloved cereal, some dried fruit also left over from Christmas, and some nuts from the freezer.
Went to sales unit to tidy / up, add a couple of things. Must do a proper restock next week. Bought butter and creak from Icyland but again failed to find any celery. They didn't have any at the market yesterday, either. Will have to check out the other supermarkets.
RM surveys stuff, as it has started again with no apparent notification
Load of washing now out on the line. Now finishing off on airer
Lunch was the rest of the turkey and veg soup I made earlier in the week. It did 3 meals for OH and I
Dinner was pesto pasta with pine nuts and parmesan, used up rest of a tub of HM pesto, some grated parmesan and some Lidl's pine nuts. Must freeze the rest of those, as they go rancid quickly if just kept in the cupboard, and they aren't cheap, even from Lidl!
Still need to finish housework (dusting, stairs), make cakes and check banks, so better get on! Still haven't finished the housework or checked the banks :eek:0 -

Entered a few comps
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer

Morning folks
1LL - how frustrating! I hope your new referral comes through soon!
Foxgloves I need some advice please on a sock. I want to make a sock that has stripes on the top of the foot but plain underneath. Should I being doing
a: knit bottom and top on separate needles and sew together
b: Some sort of reversing join-as-you go thing?
Plus any advice on joining colours is welcome because I can't make them neat
Thanks!
Group stuff yesterday was ok. It wasn't like an AA meeting with everyone sitting in a circle talking about themselves. It was just a group setting to teach CBT techniques. I did make a bit of a pranny of myself by getting a bit teared up at one point though and when the lady teaching the course caught me at the end and asked me if I was ok, I had a bit of a meltdown. Still, I felt a lot better afterwards, as you tend to when you have a good cry.
Was shattered last night but had a bit of a disturbed sleep as I think I have a cough coming on.
:heartpuls B/D from stores
:heartpuls L - need to pick up several bits not sent with Asda order yesterday - done
:heartpuls Work on scrapbook today - done
:heartpuls Do my CBT homework - done
:heartpuls Pay this blimmin car tax! *fetches purse* - done!
:heartpuls Ask OH to take me to the garden centre to get succulent compost and then pot up Christmas cactus. Cannot promise not to spend my Christmas money in there- done. No money spent apart from compost as apparently OH has a terminal sniffle
:heartpuls Strip and remake the bed
:heartpuls Check PMP - done
:heartpuls Look out little notebook to keep worry diary - done
:heartpuls Poss some knitting. I pulled apart a sock last night that I wasn't happy with. - done
:heartpuls Used up the last of a tin of Men's moisturiser that OH didn't like
:heartpuls Topped up the bird feeders
:heartpuls Picked up more bird food and a larger door mat. Scrubbed the utility room floor before laying new mat. The old one was too small so you couldn't stand on the mat while shutting the door, so we kept tracking mud in.
Have a good one all

Morning all :hello:
Hope your second referral is swift 1LL hoping for a productive weekend to include;
Cooking some kidney beans soaked overnight, portion and freeze
Make sausage rolls
Vacuum through
Small to prepaid activity.
Pop to wholesalers for bi monthly shop - have list
Put some items to return in car. Will go Monday more than likely.
Make gluten free crumpets. Test last week was good and they tasted nice and much cheaper than £1 for 2 in the shops. Will try and see if some of these can make it to the freezer
Meals from stores
Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
Morning all
Ziggy, even without your health problems, I am sure most people gained a few pounds between 22 november and now - I wonder what happened in betweenI am sure you will get it off soon, you have done brilliantly
CLF, ((hugs)) I am sure that the lady leading a group supporting people's mental health won't have been surprised or shocked that one (or more) of the group had a few tearsI hope that the therapy helps.
Still not sure if the visitors who said they are coming will turn up (they are lovely, but flakey). I hope so, as I have a big cake and a batch of flapjacks to eat otherwise  Might have to call for volunteers :rotfl:
Anyway, onwards...
Washed hair with everlating shampoo bar and left it dry on its own. I will have to tie it back in a minute to avoid it going curly
Had cheapie porridge breakfast
Got some cooked HG rhubarb out of the freezer to top porridge over the next few days (sounds a bit weird, but it is lovely with a dollop of Greek yogurt on top)
'Free' dog food, bits picked off a turkey carcase that I did in the SC for stock. His favourite thing, ever. There is enough for several more days, too. We had the best bits and the stock for soup, but picked off the skin and fragments of less attractive looking meat for him before discarding the bones
Fold up and put away dried washing on airer
Need to fill cake with whipped cream and HM lemon curd
And put flapjacks away in a tin to stop OH from eating them
Finish the housework - stairs and dusting
More washing, as it is dry out there again atm, and if it partially dries outside it is less of an issue than having it hanging around indoors for ages
Might go to Mr S to see if they have any celery. And maybe some tahini as I fancy making some hummus...
Not sure what to do for dinner - some sort of fridge round up I imagine. Always cake to fall back on :rotfl:
Happy Saturday everyone0 -
1LL/Foxgloves u have been totally spot on about routine or lack of it over Christmas. It left me totally out of kilter. Work i could of being getting on with i couldnt do bec places were shut down and i couldnt access information i needed and then had to work at hyper speed when i got it. Feeling like things are balancing out now.
Feeling miserable aswell as DD goes back to uni tomorrow and i have really loved having her home. She took me to see 1917 last night. We have an arts centre that has 2 small cinemas otherwise the closest cinema is 40 mins away and very expensive. The arts centre is much cheaper. Really lovely evening.
Although miserable im really happy as i found out she will be home for her 21st and when i asked what she would like to do, DD has requested afternoon tea at our local garden centre. Really looking forward to this and i have a voucher for this
1LL sorry to here about the dentist messing u around. Hopefully u wont have to wait too long but it doesnt seem fair
CCL glad to hear that the courts are beginning to realise what ur ex is like. Hopefully things will start to move abit quicker now.
CLF i ended up doing 2 pain management courses. I remember with the first i just turned and asked for help from the physio, that i needed to speak to someone. When they changed the course direction and how it was led i went on it hoping that it would help me with work but i ended up getting so much out of it. Those courses i would do all over again, when i was struggling and not just with pain, they just allowed me to breathe and i havent looked back.
Sending hugs to everyone
Really pleased we are still eating out of the freezer. Things that are usually overlooked are finally getting eaten
Had lots of bits of leftover cakes from Christmas. Bought a tub of Tesc@ own ice cream to have with leftovers, has been doing us well for puds. Determined to have minimal waste.
Plenty of cat food still in from black friday deals
Banking checked, everything good
Training session tonight although weather not good to travel-will keep an eye on this
Need to fold up washing and pop away.
Thats about it from me.
Have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
