I repeat, i am not criticising anyone. I’m asking for consideration for all perspectives, that is all.

My two brothers, my three sisters and I were born before the National Health Service came into existance - then my parents lost one son and daughter during the war (in which my father fought) because there were no antibiotics available to them.  It is only my youngest sister who was born after the NHS came into existance.   I am happy and proud that I and the rest of my family received an excellent education and we all went on to enjoy careers and have paid far more in contributions into the system than we shall receive out of it.   It was the dream for which our parents fought, and to which I am happy and proud to be still contributing. Who knows when one of us will need to receive more than we have contributed?   To each, according to their needs, from each according to their means.
How do you know you've contributed more than you've received? There's,  education, health etc do you know how much it costs each time you go to the doctors,  pick up a prescription, hospital. Then pension. Savvy_sewing said:
Am I being criticised because I am getting tax credits and guardianship payments??
shame on anyone who puts down the right to have help.  It is not for lack of trying to raise above the level needed but unfortunately I am not at the moment.
I pay tax and NI Thankyou.
I am entitled to Housing and Council tax benefits but I don't claim them. as I don't feel the need too.
I would like to earn more than I do, and not have to produce my accounts etc for the means testing every year on the guardian funds. Which incidentally are less than the Fostering allowance, are not index linked and will be worth less and less with inflation.
I put away money for each of the children each week before I use anything for their needs, foods, clothes, shoes, toys etc
If I could earn more  instead I would.

Savvy, yes you pay tax and ni but how much people will be thinking in comparison to how much you receive in benefits probably very little indeed and your helping your son out, buying campers vans, sorry you bought a van you will probably never drive your son is doing whatever and the little help he gives your reliant on but you receive all the benefits. There's a lack of lock down rules, son goes to girlfriends then comes back for speech, then back to whatever. badmemory said:

    Shame I can't spell!!
I think the mis-spell is highly appropriate.  There is no way I could do what SS does & she saves them much much more than they would have to spend on the childrens care if she didn't do all she does.
Maybe you couldn't but it's constantly costing. The reality honestly now is she fit for looking after the children and maybe other options would have been better.  I thought she was the right person to look after them but I'm beginning to wonder if it is just to much. It might be sad but the boys need to come first.

I do hope that you are aware of the normal outcomes for children who are taken into care which you seem to be advocating.  If not perhaps you could consider a move to Rochdale, that may broaden your horizons.  There are of course other towns that ought to be as notorious, but they seem to have managed to avoid the headlines.  If you are worried about the costs of the children being looked after - believe me the authorities will not be paying her a fraction of what it would cost them to deal with them.
