I would have lost the plot SS if that was my DS.

Ian Rankin is a fellow Fifer. I think he is funny & charasmatic & love love REbus. The TV series with Ken Stott was suberb. Ken Stott is such an amazing actor. I also liked John Hannah as Rebus though I know lots of people dident.

DS did the school runs but absolutely nothing else all day.
    Seriously annoying.
I asked him to do sausage and chips etc for tea. Dgd cooked noodles in the end. I was left with out anything as he literally put the children to bed, (no baths etc) and went out. After being on the Xbox all day. He even missed a customer coming to collect £70 worth of stuff. Headphones on !!
Seriously annoyed with him. When he went out he text me, what happened to popping your head around the door and asking?
What happens to are you ok Mum? Do you want anything?, can I make you a cuppa???? Obviously Xbox and gf mean more to him than me being unwell.
I have already had to get up and go into dgs2 as he was crying and having a bad dream.
    Argh

I noriced you had to summon ds yesterday so assume that was from his gfs. He really isn't helping your mental wellbeing. Reading about todays debacle I struggle to understand why you put up with him. I know you love him but he's not showing you any love, care or respect in return and is adding to your physical, financial and mental load.

It seems only the gf and the xbox are worthy of his time. Not bothering to bath the children sums the situation up. In his mind his priorities are more important than those in real life. You've taken on a lot of responsibility at a time you should be living your life and having an easier time. He's giving dgd and the little ones a terrible example of how to treat people and it's not helping any of you except him.

Were any of the waistcoats for the man who came in with his wife a while back? I reckoned he was a waistcoataholic.

I don't like saying the things about ds but he's dead weight and harming all of you.

candy Deadwater Fell clashes with something else. As it's on CH4 it will be repeated. Since Sony and Humax fell out and stopped supporting each other my Humax box is unusable and all the series I recorded over the years are gone. I tend to watch live the series least likely to be repeated and catch up on those that are.
    Hope you're keeping ok.

Just read your post beanie . I didn't realise you're from Fife. If you're still living there I'm tempted to ask you to knock on Elaine Colliars door nad ask if she's got the knitting pattern for the shawl on her gone into the ether blog.

I promised to knit a few of those a few years ago and the pattern I bookmarked on the Dell was lost when the laptop finally gave up.

Whilst DS is still in the house (and I can sense that you are getting closer to slamming the door on him) you're going to have to treat him almost in the same way as DGD - in fact, she is acting in the more mature manner - and only allow him x-box access when he has earned it - in other words as he has done sod-bu**er all today, no internet tomorrow.

Thanks beanie. Ss got in touch with Elaine a while back for me. The techies were still trying to get the site back. Maybe they've managed since then.

Ian Rankin was off my radar until dd1 brought one of his books here years ago and left it on the shelf in the hall for anyone interested. She ran the Scottish region for a number of years for a major bookseller and always got handed freebies. No idea why but she didn't like Ian and didn't even open the signed hardback just left it here. Dd read it , then me and we were both hooked. They're all on the bookshelf . We were delighted when the last two came out although Rebus was retired from the squad- until he got involved again. Since the one last year there still isn't any news of what was supposed to be the last one featuring John Rebus. No word either on the planned new tv episodes under Rankin and Stott.

I liked John Hannah in other dramas and films but he never seemed gritty or seedy enough to play Rebus.

Oddly enough dd1 disliked Terry Pratchett dd3 didn't talk to her for ages after hearing that. He did book events in her regions around the uk and she said although he did the signings and was nice to fans he was always happy to leave. In the end I pointed out he and Neil were longing for a burger and a pint and serving a Betty's afternoon tea in the Yorkshire region was never going to cut if.

Two fifers we just need Rankin and Elaine and maybe the lovely MP she worked with now.
