For sure
I hope that I (like many other regular contributors to this thread) aren't seen as judging. I post here, mainly, because my partner is in a somewhat similar situation and so I have some experience and insight as to what things are like for ss.0 -
I am trying to implement rules and reasons for them.
DS May be the Elephant in the room, but they all love him. As do I. ( even though he is very frustrating a lot of the time).
I am getting used to doing the majority of the care, and that I am sewing less. At the moment.
I am lucky I am self employed.
Time at the cinema gives us both time to chat in the car, Dgd opens up more, and the spark of the Dgd I know comes through. While watching a film we get the chance to laugh and relax. It's good for both of us.
The difference in the boys behaviour is noticeable, and improved from last year and I am consistent with them. It is going to be easier as time goes on, as dgs2 is now in Nursery.
I realise with various issues life is still going to be something of a roller coaster ride but I suppose that's only to be expected.
I will seek out that book.
My first aim is to try to get Dgd to sleep later and give us all a better nights sleep. That's the thing I will be trying to sort out first.
I agree that getting the school stuff ready the night before is better, and I should have noticed that Dgd will say she's done it when she hadn't so I need to follow through and check up with her.
Right DS is awake, dgs2 is back asleep, and I am going to sew for a couple of hours while DS is home before he goes back to work at lunchtime. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I managed to sew for two hours, and achieved a lot. 8 pairs of trousers and one dress shortened. £95 worth of work.
If all my work was that simple and I could earn £95 every day before lunch it would be great.
Dgs2 is really full of cold and not a very happy chappy. He's being very vocal and challenging to his brother. Glad he's not like this all the time or I think I would be deaf by the end of the month!
Dgd seems a little happier today, but it is Sunday so not a school day.
I think I will see if I can get into the kitchen to do some cooking for the next few days. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
That's another good return for a couple of hours work. I hope the little one soon recovers from his cold. Blocked or runny noses make little ones pretty miserable. When they first start nursery or school they seem to pick up allsorts until they build up their immune system, Our head had a real hankies policy which was good but meant a lot of snotty hankies and sore noses for the little ones.
Headlice outbreaks was another thing and many of us teachers would be scratching our own heads too. That's something you never build up immunity to. I had a pregnancy confirmed at an appointment for one of mine the doctor had confimed had headlice. Told to treat the family and myself. Happy days!
I forgot to say the other day how good it is to hear your mum is getting back to her usual self. The revived interest in the emboidery machine is such a positive.
I' was thinking earlier I need to get back to cooking for the big chest freezer in the garage. It's something I've always done and has fallen by the wayside for a while. It occured to me Friday is Brexit day and the day Superdoc does all dds repeat prescriptions. Might be a chance to find out if all the meds set aside to ensure a supply over the transition period do exist Thinking back to the bus with the promise of NHS funding I wont be holding my breath..
beanie you've been a bit quiet. I hope you're ok and just plodding.

There but for fortune go you and I.0 -
Brexit hasn't really been on my agenda. I will just have to live with what happens.
It's been a very noisy afternoon. I did make a spaghetti bolognese, and a small meatloaf and have frozen the mince in small 8oz portions as we are not all eating the same or st the same time at the moment.
Dgd Just asked for money for another game on her Xbox and I said no. Not until I have had a full week of her getting to school without hassle. So she's grumpy at the moment. Tough.
Boys have nearly finished their bolognese so it's going to be bath time soon. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Baths done, boys asleep.
Meatloaf cut up and packed away. As is left over bolognese.
I have swept up the floor, again. I wonder where it all comes from at times.
Feet up, call the Midwife then bed.
Recording Vera as don't think I can stay awake two more hours. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I hope you got a good night's sleep Ss, everything else is always harder to manage when we are tired. Also hope that gs2 is less snotty and gd went off to school without any problem. It's not difficult!

I went to bed about 9 I think, probably about 10when I went to sleep. Dgs2 woke at 3.30 and again at 5 odd. I tried to get him to go back to sleep in my bed, but he wasn't having any of it. Blowing raspberries and giggling at my shhhh doesn't quite work. Dds1 woke up within about 15 minutes.
Dgd actually got up without arguing although I still had to call her several times. But we got to school by the skin of her teeth.
I managed to get two sewing jobs done before I left to come to court.
So now we sit and wait. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
