DGS1 has had 3 days in a row with stickers for good behaviour and I got a thumbs up from his teacher yesterday.
Things at home are a lot calmer. Obviously not perfect, that would be a miracle.
still trying to get the bedrooms swapped around. As usual promised help is rather patchy. But we have got the small room decorated for Dgd. And the bed frame is up.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.7 -

This week DGs1 has had 4 out of 5 good days, especially good day today.Dgd and I did some construction building furniture yesterday and today. We've been doing Portuguese, history and some nature things today.
i am reading as much as I can to get to understand what I need to do.The stress level between us has gone. The days are more relaxed and both of us are feeling better. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.13 -
The boys had a good contact today, Dgd had a few hours at the stables and is going to start learning all about the horses etc. The other nanny has offered to teach her and get her able to do an nvq along the line. So we will be going to the yard more throughout the coming weeks.
wehave a practice pad coming for her drumming and lesson two on Wednesday.
monday we have the hairdresser and time 2 talk.
Tomorrow DS is due to see the boys.Mum is struggling with back pain this week so I am going to keep my eye on her. Did her top up shop today.
I got to put my feet up this afternoon/evening and Dgd actually went out on a bike ride and met up with a few of her friends. She is a changed child. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.13 -

I don't think I have ever posted on any of your threads but I just had to say that I feel you definitely have done the right thing in home schooling your granddaughter.
I absolutely hated school and was bullied. I used to dread going and even now, in my 60's, fairly often dream I am back at school. The feeling of relief when I wake and realise it was a dream is untrue.
Some children do well at school but many don't. I admire anyone who home schools as I know it cannot be easy.

We are going to be "de schooling" as many home schoolers call it. To start with it's to find what interests her. How to get her confidence back and to create a stress free day. ( as best as we can.)
changing everything is quite a challenge.
I have finally finished building and moving her bedroom furniture around.
a few extra things needed to get shelves up on the walls. But she's in now and actually has a friend come to visit after school. I can hear laughter.
we have time to talk in 30 minutes so just waiting for DS to turn up to keep an eye on the boys.
dgs1 had a great week at school last week. A reasonable weekend but apparently his worst day at school today!
I suppose I cannot have everything!

Lost a question? Someone asked if I would be returning Dgd to education.Probably not. If she wants to attend college or university at a later date then that is up to her. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.4
