  • I'm also wondering when things will be back to enough of a normality that I'd feel safe going. My husband will get the vaccine well before I do, hopefully in the early months of next year. I'm 40s and no health issues though, so who knows for me. I won't travel until vaccinated unless it somehow goes away first. I don't feel right about travelling and creating risk.

I think April is way too early, and I'm sure you were thinking that too, but who knows really. I think a lot will depend on the rollout of the vaccine and how well immunity grows to impact the infections. I'm not booked, so nothing to push back, so I'm just leaving it till I feel comfortable. I've had an occasional look at cruises, but I know I'm kidding myself there lol.

well, as for bookings, i booked my road trip part for Vegas last night, as my dad and mate had some good comp offers, despite my dad barely spending $100 a night if that when we've been...
He got the $40FP/$50RC with comp excluding resort fee at Luxor & Excal for standard room, and all the other hotels had offers, but were quite pricey for 4 nights in 2nd week of Sep...
However, for weird reason, Aria was working out 2 comp nights + 2 chargeable nights = $115 total for 4 nights which was Tues - Sat....
    So $115 + tax + Resort fee = $334 ...
ok, granted its a lot as such, but he would have to pay nearly $200 in resort fee anyway...
My mate got a similar deal, although his comp in Aria offered him the studio suite, his total comes to $296 for the 4 nights...
Pretty good offer! (he been a few times to vegas and likes to spend)...

Figured get the deals in now for them, just in case next year offers nothing like that!
I took the corner suite, as i liked the look of the bath tub!

Must admit,  we were planning on not booking anything for next year till things were more certain. Then see the half miles virgin sale  so booked that, then the caesars 45% off and 50$ resort credit... so booked that.
Is the Caesars deal still on? If so, where is it please? :)
Nope I think it was only cyber Monday I think.
    saving for more holidays

Aer Lingus apparently considering operating a MAN-LAS route for those who used to fly from there.
That would be great - can I ask where you heard this?
    Twitter chatter 🙂
    likely source is this https://www.headforpoints.com/2020/09/01/aer-lingus-to-launch-us-flights-from-uk/
and I've just seen your update saying they're going for NYC/BOS.
that'll teach me to read to the end of the thread first :)

Like everyone our 2020 travel plans were blown apart.
Our April Nashville trip became an October California one, which turned into a future travel voucher.
Then the 50% avios sale from BA tempted us into booking Vegas (rtn from San Diego) in May/June.  Then BA changed the aircraft to the A350 which meant no first class on the Vegas route (we're using the BA 241 so super cheap 1st out, business back) so we have re-routed via LAX.  The Club Suite on the A350 is probably just as good if not better than 1st class on older aircraft but the boss wanted first so that's what we're getting.
Also had a KLM trip for September with old school mates kyboshed, we took a voucher for that and have rebooked for Sept 21.

MGM wise we're definitely low-rollers so best we have is 2 nights Luxor.  Gonna book those in for arrival in May then decide at some point in the new year how long we stay in Vegas before heading to SD.

  • A mate of mine has just received an e-mail from Virgin Atlantic cancelling his flights to Vegas in late February.
It states that they have cancelled all Vegas flights until at least 16th March.
I'm waiting to book flights for sometime next year, but with the latest developments, think I will hold out for now.

I bought 2 upper class flights during the sale for middle April. Wanted to lock them in in case we can go. No probs if we have to move them about.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

When they had that black friday sale, the "premuim" seats cost £888 or £864 (west cost usa - Sep 2021) .....
When i got an email a few days ago saying virgin sale, thought i would take a look...
    Same flights = £648 .............
So technically speaking, the flights were practically full price in the black friday sale which is supposed to be like a sale sale....
and the sale now, they are £684!  hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !!!

Virgins rebooking policy is a bit pants - don’t expect to be able to move them around too much :(

I’m banking on them having to cancel the flight full stop and me getting a refund.
