yup !
I booked our road trip ready for September last night..
I rang Virgin atlantic, left phone in office, had a nice bath, dinner, then played some call of duty, and after 1hr 53mins, a lady answered!
Fair play to her,she was good...
I started with booking an upper class seat LHR-LAX rtn using my voucher from VA+ card, and whilst she was doing the motion, i was reading the reviews about the seats on the new A350 plane.....
So i stopped her, and went for x2 PE class seats instead at £474 each.
My pal, was gonna book him through a broker, as cheapest price could get for same flight was £852 in PE...
however, girl on phone was like (did some maths 1st!), buy airmiles = u get 50% free on top + fees and stuff = PE class for my pal as he had 5000 airmiles already = £714 for a PE flight, my dad gets the cheaper flight cos of me using my 2-4-1 instead of upgrade...
Winner winner! Covid, please go do 1!

Must admit, we were planning on not booking anything for next year till things were more certain. Then see the half miles virgin sale so booked that, then the caesars 45% off and 50$ resort credit... so booked that.saving for more holidays0

what’s everyone’s thoughts on when we we will be allowed to fly and when Vegas will be back to some kind of normality.
i postponed Aug this year to April next but am thinking of postponing again shortly but don’t know how long to postpone for, thinking Aug next year but wonder if that’s to soon.
cases in America are still rising LA has just introduced some kind of lockdown, Vegas is limited to 25% capacity at the moment.
experts are saying it will be at least a year before the UK is back to a new normal and that’s only if the vast majority have had a vaccine, Americans by their nature prob won’t have the vaccine in large enough numbers. That to me means that most/ all of next year in Vegas will be masks/ distancing/ restricted numbers/ low life causing problems and that assumes we will be allowed to enter.
would love to know what you guys think0 -
We're not looking at planning anything overseas until at least Sept/Oct next year.
I think realistically vaccines for my age bracket (40s) with no underlying health conditions and no at risk family, it's going to be early summer at best.
At least that gives us time to save even more and have more spending money 😁
Even Sept/Oct I doubt things will be 'normal' in Vegas, but I'd like to think it'll be in much better shape and we should be able to enjoy the things we like without too much impact.
I'd rather wait to let things fund their feet, than rush there as soon as we're able to.1 -

But a mixture of the vaccines arriving, and the great low price flights and hotels made us book for late September.
Six comped nights booked, so no risk there if cancelling, and flights booked paying taxes only.So £60 loss of cancelling those.
Wont attempt to book anything else, and hope by summer next year we feel it will be “safe”...if not, we’ll cancel.
To be honest the Americans worry me.Lots of them won’t take a vaccine.Hopefully though we may have data by then as to exactly what protection our jabs are giving us.
I think when going to Vegas we really need to “feel” we have nothing to worry about.
If we are on edge all the time thinking about “ oh, I touched that surface, I must go wash my hands” all the time, the enjoyment won’t be there. So I feel that if we wouldn’t go without worrying...we won’t go at all.
