Well that’s all holidays out the window for this year now.
Still trying after nearly 100 days to be refunded by Virgin for cancelled March Vegas trip.
Today received an email from Virgin saying Octobers LA flights have now been cancelled.
Soooo...now to start to get a refund from them for October trip.
With a bit of luck we might have received our March flight refund by October.
When you say Oct is cancelled, is that because they have stopped flying that route ( should offer you an alternative) as I am not aware they are cancelling holidays/ flights that far ahead

The email just said that they are having to consolidate their flights, and remove some routes.
The email didn’t even have my name or booking reference number on it...just the date and VS flight number.
I think VA are going out of business
They can’t afford to pay us from March flights, with many thousands more waiting, and cancellations going on late into the year, don’t believe they have the money to pay out.

So they haven’t cancelled all flights to LA, which means you should be able to get a re route .  I don’t think they will go out of business but who knows, many businesses are struggling

    I don’t want a re-route. I want a refund.
We are legally entitled to one, and to be honest with the way Virgin....and VA credit card have dealt with this whole situation, I will do everything I can not to use them in the future...if they have one.

Yes indeed you are entitled to a refund, and I suspect you will get one in time. but Virgin are not the only ones not forthcoming with refunds ( understandably in my opinion)..KLM have had to be forced by a court to do so and still aren’t playing ball. I have managed to postpone my KLM flight to a Virgin flight though so I hope they do have a future.

Its looking like flights to the USA are going to be via Heathrow probably with BA or AA . Virgin seem to be doomed and United are cutting flights from Manchester. The era of a short trip to MAN and hopping on a jet and getting off at McCarren seems to have ended.

where did you read that only BA / AA would do flights to the USA ?
Although i got no news on flight stuff, the amount of operators that fly UK to USA is quite vast, so cutting down to 2 suppliers would seriously monopolise the routes......
I know of airlines looking to cancel some flights and put passengers onto other flights to save cost of running there full schedule..... (guess thats happening with brats flight ?  )

Im due to fly out mid September with BA but Im not sure I want to yet, would rather wait and see how things work out but at the moment according the BA website you can only change flights up to the 31st August, has anyone tried to contact them and see if they are able to change?

Still lots of fiddling with the flight schedules - I'd wait it out a little longer, you may be graced with a flight change / cancellation that will make everything easier for you

As a reference point, we were due to go out to Canada early August, returning from Vegas late August (all on BA). Our flights:
    - from Manchester to Heathrow got cancelled a few weeks ago
    - from Heathrow to Calgary got pulled from the schedule early last month (cancelled for the whole year)
    - from Las Vegas to Heathrow got downgraded from First to Business last week.... then cancelled completely this week
    - from Heathrow to Manchester got cancelled this week
