We were due to go in April but obviously had to cancel. Most places have been really good and refunded straight away which was a relief. We have now re-booked flights to go again next April (fingers crossed), Just need to decide where to stay, we were going to originally stay in Excalibur but now as we have longer to save more not sure whether to for a nicer hotel. Too many decisions. We've already added on an extra night. Anyone else rescheduling for next year?

I'd definitely save and go somewhere a little smarter, unless you're going with kids? Is it your first visit?

We didn't have a LAS trip planned for 2020 but always had something in mind for Easter 2021. With the money we'll save from 2020's cancelled holidays, we're thinking of doing a 3 week multicity US trip starting in NYC and ending in LAS with somewhere in between... Just haven't decided where :)

When we did our Multi City trip in 2011 (tbf, I won the thing so could be picky), we ended up doing NYC for 3 nights, then a flight over to San Fran for a night, where we picked up the car, then we had a road trip to Yosemite National Park for 3 nights before 2 weeks in Vegas.
In hindsight, we should have done 3 nights in San Fran and cut the 2 weeks in Vegas down to 10 days. But it was still amazing.
If anybody hasn't done so, I highly recommend a trip to Yosemite. Not just for the wildlife, but the scenery is beautiful, and it was nice to get away from the touristy city life for a few days.
Even the drive to there and then on to Vegas was epic. It sounds daft, but just driving past lots of countryside where they had big signs telling you what was growing, like grapes, oranges and nectarines, was a fantastic sight.
The thing is with a trip like that, is that there is loads of places to choose from, so you are a bit spoilt for choice from the start.

I'd love to go next year, but I don't think Mr Dontone is fussed. I keep mentioning all the great times we've had before, and he is one of those that is easily swayed by his stomach (Ellis Island, anyone?) So I'm working on it.
Also it's our 20th wedding anniversary next October too, so would like to go then.
Anyway, if you are rescheduling, then put the money towards a nicer place to stay. Apparently there is nothing much wrong with Excalibur from what I have read about the rooms, but it can be overrun with kids, and sometimes there is a rather funny smell to the casino.
Last time we went (2016) we stayed in the Venetian and managed to bag a lovely suite with a Strip view using the $20 trick. It's easily the nicest place we have stayed in. And the Players club was quite generous too.
We have stayed in Wynn as well, but while the room was beautiful, you get a lot of noise at the weekend. Lots of college kids and having to listen to the nightclub music when you are 36 floors up at 2am isn't brilliant.

As dontone said, Yosimite = amazing!
The spending money i saved up for the trip we should be on right now, i saved it, but since this lockdown stuff, i seem to have spent it, but no idea on what! :D:D:D

In a way, glad our trip was cancelled, as our 1st call from Weds last week till tues was Orlando....
Weather here in Gloucestershire vs Orlando =  We'd pick Gloucestershire!!!!!   Although due in Vegas on Tuesday, where it shows excessive heat warning (nice! :D  )

Our plan for Sep is, drive to Yos park from San Fran, drive the 120 to Mammoth...  Following day, drive from Mammoth Lakes to Laughlin, via a stop at Copper Top BBQ in Big Pine, and a photo from Dantes View in Death Valley, big drive, but between 3 people, do-able in 1 day!

kroberts - price difference between say the Lux, or a Caesars hotel mid strip vs Excal , would be small, and i'd say most would recommend you spend that extra £50 or so.....     Luxor is cheap, but thats where we stay (not bragging, but i can stay anywhere , in most suites for free, but i still pick the Luxor!)...   Luxor for us , hard to say what it is, just really like it there! :):)    and not too pricey either!

San Fran / Yosemite is added to the list of ideas! :)

I've never driven in the States and am a bit nervous about being on the right hand side and understanding the laws!

Overall it is easier than driving in the UK ,more space ,lots of new safety features on the hire cars etc.
Driving on the right is no problem , I just remember -right turns easy -left turns hard. That saves you from swapping sides on quiet roads. (which that American Lady did here )

Hehe thanks! To be honest I've not really looked into it much, will watch some YouTube videos! Isn't there a whole thing about being able to turn right at lights even if they're red? :)

Yes, you are allowed to do that in Vegas. The people behind you who are waiting to turn right will 'kindly' let you know if you aren't sure. Flashing your headlights to let someone pull in is frowned upon as well.
Mr Dontone loves driving over there. No roundabouts, speed humps, or speed cameras to worry about. There's loads of space and some roads you can see for miles in front of you.
