    Dear All,

I have just noticed this thread today and notice it has an ambitious target to reach. Good luck Roxie W! I too would like to accumulate a similar ambitious amount of money in a relatively short timescale (50,000 would be a good goal to aim for) and I believe this just may be the right forum to spur me on. I am coming from a comparatively low base, have about 4,000 pounds in savings right now but wish to build on this. Currently put 250 into an ISA as well as trying to save 400 pounds a month so trying to save 650 pounds per month - not far off Roxie's target then. Always believe where there is a will, there is a way and with a bit of positive and smart thinking, believe I could seriously escualate my savings.

My background; I work full-time, do a little freelance work including housesitting as well as dabble with entrepreneural ideas (jewellery making, making clutch bags, writing, proof reading, webdesign, etc). I also enjoy studying (looking at OU this year) which may help to bumpf my income over time and have studied a part-time law course so should be familiar with consumer rights, lol. Don't have a well paid hubby for who could offer some support (no offence Roxie!) as I am aiming to do this on my own.

Any ideas, gratefully received. I am enjoying reading the previous posts on this thread.

Hi back :hello: Roxie W and thank you for the acknowledgement.

I agree, perhaps we could help to spur each other on.

I am on holiday for 2 weeks and hope to come up with some more money making ideas inbetween sorting out my clutter. Perhaps my clutter will give me more ideas! (such as ebay and amazon). Anyway having the occasional sort out is always refreshing and you never know what you might find!

I've also got a madly ambitious financial target (paying off a £150k mortgage in 3 years) and have been lurking about Roxie's thread for quite a while now.

Just thought I'd pop up and say "Hello" and "Good Luck" to you both!

hi dithering dad - oooh i love it when nice lurkers pop up - always suprises me that anyones reading!! :rotfl:

wow - £150K in 3 years?? how does that work then? I'd love to do it! Must admit, I've thought about making overpayments instead of saving - but the threat of market falls and negative equity has scared me off. I 'd rather have the money where I can get hold of it if needed. Although, it prob not the best way as I can and do get hold of it for holidays, birthdays, nights out etc etc :o

    Ok - food today

    brekkie - oj, tea, muesli
lunch - small goats cheese salad
    snack - 4, yes 4, shortbread fingers :o
dinner - sweet chilli sausage with roast sweet potato and corn on cob.

so do to the shortbread blip, i have to be really good tonight and not snack.
must be saving calories thou not drinking as much thou, which is good - used to have 2 or 3 glasses a night. Nothing but a coffee for me tonight, tomorrow night and hopefully for most of this week!

    NSD today :T

dale finally got round to printing some leaflets so that he can do private jobs ie extensions etc - although he's adamant that he doesnt need insurance and thats worrying me. he says noone else he knows who does private jobs has it and yes it is expensive at £1000 a year, but what if he makes a mistake and something goes wrong? We'll be having to pick up the tab and it could be disastarous!!
